A SUNSET FANCY I
Tonight as I sat at my window,
While the west was all agleam |
With the strange and wonderful
splendor “
That is flecting as in a dream; |
I thought-that the hands of angles
Had flung Heaven's gateway wide,
And I caught some glimse of the
glory
From the hills on the other side.
Is it not a comforting fancy—
l’is sunset thought of*mine,
%,t always the gate of Heaven
Swing open at day’s decline?
That those whose work is all ended
From our earthly woes and ills
May pass to the peace and gladness
That dawn on the beautitul hills?
'
Perhaps while I sat there dreaming
Of the gateway in the west, -
Some weary ones went homeward
To a long and endless rest——
Went in through the sunset gateway
To the city paved with gold.
To dwell on the hills of heaven,
And be no longer old.
When for me the sunset gateway
Shall at the day’s decline unclose,
And I enter through ils portals |
To along and sweet repose, |
I know that I shall remember |
In that land so fair and far.
My strange and beauteous fancy
Of the sunset gates ajar. :

YOU CAN'T FIGURE out your
chances on the Dblackboard of
fate because years ago fools
used to blow out the gas, now
they step on it, and here’s about
as good recipe for a first class
tragedy as anyone could ask
for: One natural bhorn fool; 2
couple drinks of moonshine;
some kingd of an automobile;
Direcetions: Soak the feol in the
moonshine: pluce him in the
car and let him go; aiter due
time remove from the wreckage,
place in a satin lined box and
garnish with flowers. . If you
really must step on the gas, be
sure to head in the direction of
Quick Service Battery Co,
where the hest of Prest-O-Lite
batteries can be obtained. It's
