The French debt agreement, migra
tory bird legislation, farm relief and
barbors appropriation bill makes up
the hodge-podge calender congress
will tackle this week after its Memo
rial day recess tomorrow,
House leaders have arranged a
program calling for action on thej
French debt Tuesday and the trans
miseion of that problem to the sen-‘
ate where a long flight is threatened
unless resort is made to night ses
gion to wear down the opposition, l

claim the attention of the senate
Tuesday with-a movement on foot to
foree a vote on a proposal to evolve‘
tue rule limiting each senator to an
hour’s discussion on the bill. This is,
the second cloiture movement at
this seszion, the drastic rule having
been applied during the world court
debate.
Unlegs the bird bill is .disposed of
speedily, friends of farm relief will,
ingist on calling up the administra
tion’s cooperative marketing bill to
which has been attached the corn
belt measure in a form little differ
ent from the Haugen bill which the
house has rejected.
Efforts to get the house agricul-‘
ture committee to frame, a modified

With the army and navy air ser
vice expansion bills, the Dill radio
control measure and many other
minor pet projects in the offing,
congress apparently is a long way
from adjournment.
FOKKER BUILDING PLANE TO
CARRY FORTY PASSENGERS
NEW YORK, May 31—(A)—A
giant airplane, multi-motored, and
providing sleeping accomodations
for 35 to 40 passengers, i 3 under
construction from designs of An
thony H. G. Fokker, Dutch airplane
designer and builder, it was learned
today.
The preliminary work on it has
been carried on at the Fokker fac
tory in Amsterdam, Holland. The
machine designed primarily for fly--
ing in America, may be used to in
augurate a transcontinental passen:
ger service between New York and
San Francisco.

G-year-old boy was killed and sev
eral others were injured this after
noon when an automobile said te
have been driven by a man named
Watts, of near Molena, Ga., ran off
an embankment and into a fill on the
Macon & Birmingham railroad at
Crest, several miles west of Thom--
asgville,
Watts and his family were out for
a ride and in some manner the car
became unmanageable and left the
highway, falling to the cut below
The car is said to contain séven pas
sengers,
Several physicians from Thomas-}
asville were rushed to the scene, On
ly meagre reports of the accident
have been received here,

For Traffi Breach
WILMINGTON, N. C,, May 31—
(P)—Miss Helen Wiyers, of Audobon
a suburb, is an inmate of the city jai'
because of her ‘disregard of the
ciey’s traffic laws,
After failing to obey a'traffic sig
nal she drove through * the Ceity’s
main streets for ten blocks before a
traffic officer ‘overtook!' her. Haled
into recorder’s court on 2 ¢harge of
disregarding the signal and reckless
driving it was discovered she had no
license to drive an automobile. Re
corder Harris imposed a sentence of
30 days for driving without a li
cense, and 10 days for reckless
driving. The 30-day sentence was
suspended upon agreement of the
girl not to drive a car in the countyl
lor a year. The 10-day sentence she
has Segan serving.
