ard Reese Whittemore was denied a
new trial by the supreme bench of
Baltimore. He was oonvicted on May
21 of first degree murder for the
killing of Robert H. Holoman, a
Mavyland peitentiary guard.

MYST.RY SHOT KNILS NEGRO
ARLINGTON, Ga., June 3—No ar
rests have been made in connection
with the mysterious slaying of Bok
Evens, colored temant on the place
of J. R. Reynolds, near Arlington
who was shot and “Tinstantly killed
Saturday night on“the porch of hig

COUPLE KILLED AT ROAD

CHICAGO, 11, June 3—(P)—A
man and a woman probably fatally
wounded, by unidentified -assailants
who opened fire just after the three

All of the vietims were struck by
charges from a shotgun and such o
weapon was found in shrubbery
across the road from the inn.
