ACCEPTANCE
As it's given to me to see,
I have come to this conclusion:
Telling God what ought to be
Is impertinent intrusion,
So when I get down to pray
I just ask for what is best
And the .mng‘th to face the day
And the faith to meeet the test.
As I run my own life through,
'Spite of all the pains I'm taking,
I'm ashamed to sit and view
All the blunders I've been making,
I've so bungled my affairs,
Doing what I thought was wise,
That I've ceased to put on airs :
And I fear to criticize. |
All my boasted judgment seems
But a 2 hodge-podge and a jumble,
1 have spoiled so many dreams
That I ¢hould be very humble.
For the'gain’l thought was good
Often thii{e(l out very itad, i .
And the loss when undérstood,
Broughb‘ what ' small success I've had
As it’s 'éiven Airhe to see,
I have come to this coneluszion:
Telling God what ought to bhe
Is impertinent intrusion.
Since I cannot wisely run
All these small affairs of mine,
Surely I am not the one
To resent the will divine. |

. Confetti prints on a black or white
ground, which look exactly as if a
bag of confetti had beene dumped on
a plain surface, are extremely amus
ing, and much liked in Paris.
Neutral backgrounds are strezsed
this season, and the color that is
used to accent it is made all the]
more important. l
A charming ensemble idea is the‘
coat of black flat crepe lined with
white chiffon, worn with the white
chiffon frock and the large black hat
At the Paris openings, much at:

gown, particularly to the all black

For summer Tl;;c—;s, the simple
frocks of pastel colored chiffon with
handkerchief points or an irregular
hemline of some sort and a model
bodice, is a wise purchase.
A most interesting coat of black
