’Ti_ ‘FIE SOUTH’S NEED for greater railroad service in
: the next few years is a problem which the manage
« ment of the Southern Railway System rnust solve now.
Planning years ahead is a prime requisite of adequatc
railroad service,
The heavy freight movement throughout the South has
naturally increased our total revenuzs. We have been
able to effect many economies in operation which have:
correspondingly increased our net income and permittec!
us to pay dividends to our stockholders.
But traffic in the South will continue ‘o rrow. We must
continue to expand our facilities in order that our servic:
may keep pace with the demands upon it. Good earning:
will make it possible to attract additional capital as necder
to make necessary improvements,
‘The business interests of the South have a definite intere:
in the prosperity of their larvest railvay system, Cor
-~ tinued good earnings by the Southe m will insure 4:;
continuation of adequatc transporiallon service to tic
South.

THE CORDELE DISPATCH
GIRL IN TUB FREED BY
POLICE FOLLOWING RAID
NEW YORK, Jure 22— (P)—Miss
Jean Bodine, 23-year-old actress
who was charged with having done a
“girl in a bath tub” act at the 125th
strect theater, was discharged today
after Magistrate Smith ruled that
her offer to don a pair of flesh col
ored tights in couri was unnecessary
The defense offered this evidence
to prove that the girl might have
been thought nude while wearing the
tights. Detectives who arrested her
testified she wore no tights, while
other witnesses said she did. “

You are loyal to your home town. That goes without saying.
One of your most effective means of proving it is to spend your
money for printing at home. As long as you can get what you :
need at an even break in price, you will want to be sure to have
the printing done at home. . : :
Cotton hooks, receipts, warehouse supplies, letter heads, en
velopes, bills and a thousand and one other forms can be had here
at home where the home printer can show you what you are get- ,
ting in time to have it done right.
Your home printer is more interested than anybody else in
having it done right. He will work harder for you than the out- NG
side man with the grip on a ten percent commission. You can- ,
not deny that the home print shops do their hest for you in both
price and quality. And the home print shops are not run by
beggars. They maintain business institutions, live here, pay
taxes, rents and their portion of all public enterprises. They :
have a right ‘to exidt on a heads up schedule just as you have. :
Please don’t think of them in any other manner than that. '
) And the home paper has a right to an income sufficient: to
maintain it as representing a progressive eommunity. Unléss
you are loyal to the core, it isn’t going to have that income. The
money you spend outside of Cordele for printing eripples the
home paper. You use the home paper for many things—have to
do that. You have a right to use it when you spend your money
at home for printing. When you do not, we have a right to in
vite you to get your free boosting from those with whotn 'you
spend your money for printing. i i v
Stay at home with all the printing you ean give the home
print shops, Call them when you need something. The business
attention that will be given yon will justify your loyalty.

TWO HURT WHEN
CAR OVERTURNS
.~ SPARTA, Ga., June 22—(A)—A
light coupe owned by Miss Mildred
Wright, seeretary o L. S. Fowler
bookkeeper for the Georgia State
College for Women, a Milledge
ville, turned turtle on the Sparta
and Jewell highway yesterday after.
noon and was burned before assist
ance could be given, Miss Wright
and her companion escaped with
minor injuries, which is considered
most miraculous, since the car was
closed and both were caught under
the wreckage.
No veason could be given for the
accident as the road at this point
about four miles from Jewell, is per
feetly straight and smooth. The
coupe was probably travelling at a
high rate of speed, from all indica
tions, and the driver lost control of
it. A passing motlorist carried the
wreck vietims to Milledgeville
where their injuries were treated,
against the bootleg activity at the
base was started here by General
Smedley DButler, it was said at Ma
rine headquarters.
