commiitee of Lleyd’s has has award
‘ed the Lloyd’s bronze medal for
meritorious service to Ethel Langion
15, daughter of the keeper of St
Helen’s fort lighthouse, Bembri'ftgc%
The medal is given her in rccogm-%
tion of her endurance in keeping thcj
lighthouse lamp working for three
days during a zaie last March.,
The girl was left on the white--

TEMPLE LIKE PARTHENON
NEW YORK, June 29—(P)—A
temple designed after the Parthenon
on the Acropolis at Athens, will be
erected in New York in the near fu
ture by the New Thought Alliance
Mrs. Mary E. Chapin, its president
announced at the closing session of
the allianct’s 13th annual congress.
She said the temple would have a
“platform so broad that every re
lizion and person having a universal
message could come there, receive
a cordial welcome and deliver it.”

Castle McLaughlin today deplored
hair, 13 years ago she introduced the
practice but she is still bobbed.
The “boyish bob” has ruined it
all” she said, adding “it is affecting

equine picture, while motor trans
portation continues to advance.
A census of whip manufacturers
anncunced today by the commerce de
partment disclosed a falling off of
58.5 percent last year as comvpared
with 1923, the last census year
with the whip valued at $296,270
and $701,248 :n the prospective
years. :
