RACE OF TALMADGE
FORSYTH, Ga., July 25.—(AP)—
Friendly interest centers here in the
ctndidacy of Eugene Talmadge, of Mc-
Itve, for the office of Commisgsioner
of Agriculture by reason of the fact
that thig city is his biylhood home,
aud his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
R. Talmadge, still live here. Eugene
Talmadge has many friends in For
svth and Monroe county, having been
lorn here 41 years ago, and lived here
vntil he left for Athens to attend the
University of Georgia, where he grad
vated in 1907. Eighteen years ago he
moved to south Georgia, 'settling at
Mcßae, later marrying Mrs. Mittie
I eterson, of Ailey. There is nothing
;l'nusual in the fact that he lives on
and manages his large farming inter
}ests. for he came from a long line
i(.f dirt farmers.
.~ Mr. Talmadge is glated to speak
11-. em the early part of next month.
