IT TAKES SO LITILE
It takes so little to make us sad;
Just a slighting word o 1 a doubting
£neer,
Just a scornful smile ¢n some lips
held dear;
And cur footsteps lag, tho the goal
seemed near,
And we lose the covrape and the
hope we had-—
So iittle it takes o make us sad.
It takes so little to make us glad;
Just a cheering clasp of a friendly
Liand,
Juet a word frora some one who can
understand ;
And we finish the tasik we long had
planned
And we lose the daubt and the fear
we had—
So iittle it takes tc¢ maie us glad—
