place July 14, was revealed yester
day for the first time as a result of
the death Sunday of Miss Sarah
Champion, of Cochran, the bride.
Miss Champion was Kkilled when the
automobile driven by her brother
overturned Sunday neao Cochran.
The marriage wa; to have been an
nounced Christmas.
The groom, Harry C. Hinson, "fl
Clearwater, Fla.. reccived news of
the death of Miss Champion Tues
day, too late tc¢ reach Cochran in
time for the funeral. The hurricane
which erippled al' wircs in Florida
Monday and Tuesday delayed the
thres telegrams dispatehed to Mr.
Hinzon by Miss Champion’s family.
He left Clearwater as sgoon as th«-l
news reached him.
Yesterday shortly «fter noon at
the Clinic where Mr. Hinson came
veaterday to see Romutue Champion,
brother of his wife, who is also in a
gerinus condition he revealed the
fazie of their marriage.

election of Albert J. Woodruff, of
that county, to one of the positions
on the state public service com
migsion was announced Wednes
day,
It was stated the.committee will
take the position that since a
fiouth Georgia man will be elected
to the other position on the state
public service commission and that
since there is one commissioner
now on that.body from South Geor
la and a third member of the
commission is from a section con
sidered South Georgla territory, it
would be unfair-to the rest of the
state to elect to the fourth place
on the commission.a South Georgia
candidate, there being but five
members on thescommission, They
point out further-that if Mr. Wood
ruff is not elected, thrce members
of the commission will come from
virtually the same community,
This situation, they state, would be
contrary to the best interests of
the state as a whole,
The committee also points out
that since Mr. Woodruff is unop
posed for the short term on the
commission it would be manifestly
unfair to himto have to leave the
