Farm relief as proposed by Repub
lican leaders during the lagt session
of congress would have cost South
ern cottt‘fhv farmers a maximum of
$7 a bale, without eompensation in
the form of any other farm relief,
according to Representative Charles
R Crisp, who is spending the con
gressional vacation at hig home in
Americus.
Judge Crisy, a guest of the Ro
tary Club bere, cxplained briefly for
Americus Rotarians three farm re
lief measures which were consider
ed during the last congress. Only
one of these measures, he said, con
tained any promise of aid to South
ern farmers, and this has no
chance of passage. Judge Crisp said
he opposed the Haugen-McNary bill
Trout.

SWIMMING POOL WILL

The coming week will be the last
for the Cordele Swimming Pool
this season. Mr. Williamg thanks the
public for their generaus support for
the scason and is happy to state
that this has been a good season
which is clozing with no accidents
of any kind. The pool will be closed
for the season next Saturday night.
