cious. I never even heard that Mr.
T. R. Bennett was supporting me un
til it was charged by John Holder
in hig speeches, My distinet under
standing haz been that he supported
John Holder in the first primary.
The charge that Mr. T. R. Bennett
or Governor Walker has either re
quested of me or mentioned to me
the reappointment of Mr. T. R, Ben
nett as supcrintendent of banks is
false and malicious. Any charge that
Governor Walker has requested of
me any appointment or any proin
ise either for himself, Bennett, or
any other living soul is false and
mealicious.

a spring pool under ten feet of water,

Dr. A. A. Duncan returned to his
home in Greenville, exas, = early
Thursday morning after having spent
several days here the past week con
ferrine with recard to accepting the
pastorate of the First Baptist church. 1
He bas taken the call under serious
consideration and he left close
friends believing-that he is planning
to come. ‘
Dr. Duncan preached to a full
house at the regular prayer mecting
hour Wednesday night and left mem
ers of the congregation in strong
hopes of soon having him here as
their pastor. Dr. Duncan is one of
the outstanding ministers in Texaz.
He went there from Georgia more
than 25 years ago and now has one
of the great churches in Texas. Dr.
Durcan is a native Georgian andja
power as a preacher, !
