f Abm;t a month ago the Wofford Oil
Coxpr,any _began the ‘publ\icati(m of
short, crisp epigrams explaining the
@dvaflages of using Wecs Pep Motor
Fee} and Tioline Motor Oil. At the
same time the readcrs were asked
to try their hand at wiiting epi
grams. A $5.00 award was offered
ggr each e}figram accepted and pring
ed.
Nlt scemed as though everybody
‘ j‘gmpedi at the opportunity to try a
hand at epigram consrtuction. Hun
ilreds of epigrams. were received and
the judges had a most difficult task
'«;-‘;0 select those which were the best.
" Quite a few epigrams that were re
ceived during October have been se
lected for publication' and will shortly
be found in the columns of the Cor
dele Dispatch.
; v:One of the bhest of the epigrams
came fiom Miss Elizabeth H .Nall,
of 1183 Lucile Ave, Atianta. who said
“When your tank is full of Woco,
tiln your car is full ‘of pep.” Annther
'_\finning one came from Dr. Mather
! .'i\l. McCord, of Rome, which went as
¢ followz—“A car which-is kest niled
“is kept neyr—-*xse Tiolene.” Others
‘“that were Mighty geed-were algo e
'%"'](?‘(,'F'(‘}(] for prize 'x}\VHrkls, Mrs. H. It
‘Babh, of Macon, and F. C. Brock
meyer, of Atlanta, being their authors,
“éThe fact that the Ocloher awards
have been made does not'effect the
'.a?rfér's‘igf,_any way” says Mr, Wiley,
i Moore, president. of the Wofferd Cil
i@ompany, “we will cotitinue 'to pay
$5.00 itor epigramg on Woco Pep and

lication each month. Tell the folks
"to send in their ideas dnd «win a
prize.”
. 'Pat on your thinking caps, folks.
< It's o lot of fun to write the epigrams
even if there wasn't a big $5.00 as an
