PRISON COMMISSION TAKES

Johnson, was taken under advisement
by the State Prison Commission late

The story deals with the fortnes
of Wally Weston, the happy-go
lucky, kind-hearted son of a relig
pus bigot, who mistrusts all humani
ty. Wally has befrieaded Ruth Rea
gan, the unjustly outcast daughter of
a jail bird much to his fathers dis
satigfaction. Matters are brought to
a head when Wally is arrested for
¢ngaging in a hrawl to save the ex
convict, Jim Regan, from shooting
the man he accuses of framing him,
Dan Norris. His fatber disowns him.
Wally unable to find work any
where, Hearing that the Bar X
ranch needs men, he heads for the
outfit and halfway there, is held
ip by a youthful bandit. “Angel
Face” Secing the weak condition in
which Wally is from hunger, shares
his food with him and eventually a
friendship springs up between the

two. On a turn of the cards it is
decided they will go straight and
both proceed to Bar X ranch and
obtain work.
Meanwhile Jim Regan is released
from prison and in going to bid Wal
ly good-bye is driven off the Wes
ton grounds at tze point of a gun by
Wally’s father. Later Regan is found
dead and old Weston is charged with
the murder Wally’s father leaves
the prison‘'a wiser and kinder man
and approves of Wally’s marriage
to- the one-time convict’s daughter,
