WIFE WINS SUIT FOR DECREE
FROM RAMBEAU’S CUIEST
e
NEW YORK. December 3—(P)—
An interloctury decree of divorce inf
favor of Mrs. Mabel Manton against
William Kevitt Manton, actor and
stage director, was signed in supreme
court here today. Marjorie Rambeau,
actress, was mentioned by Mrs., Man-|
ton as the ‘“other woman.” |
\
~ Mre. Manton, who has custody of‘
the two children, was also awarded
$3O a week permanent alimony. The
deerees becomes final in 90 days.
The suit was not defended.
Today’s decision disposes of a suit
which had twice been before the
court in the last year. The case was
dropped last winter after it had gone
to a jury and later returned to the
calendar.
Miss Rambeau who appeared at
the firet trial, did not appear in‘
court subsequently. Mrs. Manton al-‘
leged that in ‘August, 1925, she
.
fond Manton and the actress in a
hotel room. |
Miss Rambeau said Manton was
there as a hired cuiest, helping her
in studying her theatrical lines.

“Never a Special Sale’’ Means
Lower Prices in the Beginning
Says Stephen Philibosian, Inc.
Well Known Dealers in Furni-|
. ture, Rugs and Draperies, Ex
plain Significance of. This
Unusual Policy. '
When the firm of Stephen Philibo
sian, Inc., of Atlanta, ad¥rtises they
never conduct a “Special Sale,” some|
people do not grasp the full signlfl-]
cance of this policy, and for the pur-|
pose of thoroughly explaining why
such a plan is of special importance
to the buying public this article is|
written, I
It stands to reagon that any firm
that never. conducts a special cut
price sale. must mark their merchan
dige. 80 low, in, the beginning that a
special sale will not be necessary in
‘ovdér to move the stock. At e
This is precisely what the firm of
Stephen Philibosian, Inc., does. When
new furniture, rugs or draperies are|
‘bought, the' sélling’ price is 'marked
80 low thHat it is not necessary to cut
the price and wage an intensive, sell
ing campalgn to move the goods. Peo
ple come to the store, see the remark-,
ably low prices and by comparison
with other prices they see the gen
uine values offered.
A. Big Advantage to the Buyer.
When one stops to analyze this pol
fey, it 18 readily seen that this mer
chandising plan works to big advan
tage to the buyer. For ingtance: sup
pose you were running a store that'
conducted ‘special sales. ~When you!
bought new merchandise, you would'
mark it up to what the average store!
considered a fair profit. If the goods!
were not sold at this price they could
remain in your store for menths, maY-E
be years. Finally, in order to get rid,
of such surplus, you would conduct a|
cut-pyice sale. You would cut the orlg~{
inal price to such a point that the
public would consider it value enough,
to- huy.
From the public’s standpoint peoplel
are buying merchandise lower in price!
than it has been marked in the past,‘
but, at the same time, they are buy-!
ing goods which may not show that;
they are shap worn, but it is true!
neverthelegs that this merchandise has|
stood on the floor for a considerablel
time,

Philibosian Policy Means New
Mérchandise.
The policy of Stephen Philibosian,
Inc., to never conduct a special sale
means that goods must be priced right
in the beginning. Such a policy as
suresg you that when you go there and
make a purchase it is absolutely new
merchandise that you huy.
It is a well-known fact that the
vogue in furniture and household fur
nishings changes just as surely a:
the vogue in clothes. Although this
change in furniture vogue may no
come about as rapidly the changc
comes nevertheless and people whe
are interested in keeping up witk
the ‘times want the latest ideas ‘r
furniture degign when they buy.
Anyone who- doubts the quality an¢
style of the furniture offered for salf

. ,Cagh Policy Means Lower, Prices,
Here is a store that offers the “ultre
gmart” in furniture ‘and ‘home fur
nishings at prices farlower than yot
would expect to pay for such mer
chandige. -
When one geeg through this bip
estabiishment in Atlanta and sees the
amazingly low prices marked on fur
niture that ‘has such obvious qualits
and distinction, it is really amazin-
The explanaticn is that here’is a firm
that sells only for cash and by selling
for cash they arc able to operate on
a very low margin of profit.
In the last analvsis it is this cash
pelicy, which enables the firm of Ste
phen TPhilibosian, Inc, to advertise
they never conduct a “Special Sale.”
It is this cash policy which enables
them to mark merchandise go low in
price in the begimning that it is not
necessary to conduct a special cut
price sale in order o move the goods
