Padlock proceedings against 58 of
Manhattan’s best known night elubs,
cabarets, and restaurants were begun
in raids by seven parties sent out
from the office of Federal Attorney
Buckner.
Among the well-known places “on
the raider’s list were the Three Hun
dred club, Club Anatsle, Tommy
Guinman’s P]aygroun(f. ‘Del TFey
Club, Cafe de Paris (roof floor of
Century theater) Emabsfy club and
Club Biarritz. :
The total number of deaths in the
British air force in eleven months
was 73. The air ministfy attributes
most of them to errors of judgment
by pilots. ,
