BEERY AND HATTON MAKE
GREAT HIT IN “WE’RE IN
THE NAVY NOW?’ AT CIRCLE
ADVICE TO GOB ROOKIES FROM
PAIR WHO ARE “IN THE NAVY
. NOW”
All joking aside, the sailor's life
is a bewildering one to an unscaooled
rookie. At least that was the exper
ience eneounterfd by Wallace Ber
ry and Raymond Hatton, starred‘ in
Edward Sutherland’s Paramount pro
duction, “We’re In the Navy Now”
which is at the Circle Tuesday and
Wednesday.
Due to their misfortunes, they
have evolved an intimate “advice to
rookies” gervice which is now offer
ed for whatever it's worth. Here are
Beery and Hatton’s “dzily dozen”
for navigators:
Always grin when passing an off
cer but never embarrass him by sa
luting. If he calls attenticn to the in
formaliyty of your greeting, slap him
on' the back.
In the same way smile at the cap
tain whe he is inspecting the crew.
It will usualy break the ice and put
you on a friendly basis.
