WESLEYAN CORDELE CLUB
TEA LOVELY AFFAIR.
Members of the Wesleyan Cordele
Club entertained with a beautiful
tea on Friday afternoon from four
to six at the home of Miss Kathryn
Royal, cn Fourteenth avenue.
* The livingroom, music room and
diningroom were beautifully dec
orated throughout in Smilax, chrys
anthemums and other flowers.
Mrs. T. J. Royal greeted the guests
at the entrance doors und composing

bethan collar; Miss. Matjorie Royal,

fet§, with ruffle trimming; and Missl
Malette Crum who wote a ‘lovely
frock of Rainbow taffeta. . ‘
Mrs. Gladstone Fleming received

bella Harris, at the diningroom en-;
irance. These and others who ‘as

Wesleyan students.
g Inr the dining room the Wesleyan
colors of purple and lavender were
most artistically carried out in the
decoraticns and all minor details.
The prettily Sppointed table was
overlaid with a lace cloth and cen
tered with silver baskets of lavender
Scotch heather, the handle of which
was tied with a fluffy bow of tulle
in lavender and purple. Placed at
intervals were candlesticks holding
purple unshaded candles, and silver
bonbon baskets filled with ° mints,
and salted nuts. Bowls of - Scotch
heather were used on mantel, buffet
and cabinet,

CHRISTMAS REUNION
One of the most delightful events
of the holidays was the family re
unicn of Elder and Mrs. R H. Bar
wick of this city. 40
The dining room wasfibéaufifil in
its Christmas decorations of holly,
mistletoe and Dells. In one corner
stood the Christmas tree laden with
presents which were "distributed by
Santa Claus after dinner,
Mre. Barwick and her daughter,
Mrs. W. M. Gorman were. joint
hostesses of the 6 o’clock dinner.
The guests were seatel by ‘place
cards at the bountiful table which
had as its centerpiece a lovely bowl
of hyacinths. The beautifully brown
ed turkey with allits appetizing ac
cessories completed the festive oc-
casion. '

Dougherty, of Jacksonville, Fla.,
were married Saturday, December
twenty-fifth, at eleven o’clockj at
the home of the bride’sparerits,'Mr.
and Mrs. D. C. Corey. Rev. J. B.
Johnstone, pastor of the First
Methodist church( performed the
ceremony which was witnessed by
members of the family and a few
close friends. '
The bride who is the second daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Corey, has
resided here since early girlhood.
She is a young woman of many ad
mirable traits and has many friends
here who will wish her all happiness
in her marridd life. AN
Mr. Dougherty is a young business
man engaged in the real estate field
in Jacksonville where ine and‘ his
bride will make their futre home.
Miss Edith Newsome, of Reynolds,
is the guest of Miss Eleanor Royal.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Atkins spent
Sunday wiht relatives in Tifton.

Christmas with relatives at Claxton
