Archbishop Francesco Orozco Y. Jim
inez, of Gaudalajara, is the central
figure for a moment in the religious
cohtroversy in Mexico. The war de
partment, while not in possession of
substantiation of information it gave
out Monday that the Catholic prelaie
was engaging in revolutionary activi
ties at the head of a band of rebels
in the state of Jalisco, says it is cer
tain he ig hiding szomewhere in the
mountains of the gtate surrounded by
his followers.

PRESTONBURG, Ky., Jan. 19. —

mountain retreats today for slayers
of a deputy sheriff and assistant post
master, shot down in the remote S-‘ic-.
tions of Floyd county Sunday. The
men killed are Rollie Parker, wound
ed fatally when attempting an arrest,
and Victor Osborn, shot to death be
fore the Lignon postoffice.

Divine account -of creation as set
forth in the first and second chap:
ters of Genesis in the Hnly Bible.”

ing from $5O to $lOO and forfeiture

Neither Dr. Gaines nor Dr. Hancock
announced their opinion of Mr.

upon a collapse.”
