The weight is 2,980 pounds. so it much underweighs Fours of similar capacity. And it costs much less to operate than Fours of equal size and power. It weighs, for instance, 400 pounds less than the four-cylinder HUDSON “37", the best four cylinder-car that ever went from this factory. Yet the wheel base is 123 inches, and there are two extra tonneau seats. It consumes one-fourth less fuel than the HUDSON “37", yet it has more power. This is due to a small-bore, long-stroke motor—a European innova tion, It shows an equal or a greater sav ing compared with any other same-class Four. The Day of Sixes As everyone knows, the trend is to ward Sixes, There are now 38 makers whose best car is a Six, and 14 of them now build Sixes exclusively. THE GEORGIAN'’S NEWS BRIEFS. Fair Lillian and New Husband'Honeymoon'’ NEW 7YORK, Feb. 28.—Lillian Russell and her husband, Alexander Moore, were among the passengers on the liner Calamares, which sailed for the tropics at noon to-day. They posed for a photograph. “I suppose this is a sort of honey moon trip?” suggested a reporter, “Indeed, it is,” agreed Mr. Moore. “It may .be yours, . sai@ Mra Moore, which remark, it may be said, was some repartee, WANTS MORE MONEY, NEW YORK, March 2.—John Arm strong Chaloner (Chanler), author of the query, “Who's loony now?” has asked Justice C'ohalan to increase his vearlv allowance from $17,000 a year to $24,000. According to Chaloner's estimate, he is now in need of about $26,615 to pay his expenses. He says h 2 will do with $24,000, however, by “laying off my assistant secretary, a proofreader and a groom.” BIUIDSON SisxLhl Q== F Hudson Motor Car Company 5115 Jefferson Ave., Detroit, Michigan Lacy Found Guilty 0f Stealing $50,000 BIRMINGHAM, Feb. . 28.—Theo Lacy, former chief clerk of the Ala bama Convict Department, was found guilty late to-night of embezzling $50,000 of State funds. Arguments of the attorneys had consumed the en tire day, and it was not until 10:30 p. m. that Judge Brown finished his charge to the jury, which consumed two hours. The jury immediately retired, and reached its verdict in a few minutes. Lacy had sat unmoved, though very much interested in the arguments, all day, and showed little signs of emo tion when the verdict was returned against him. MANY MISSING IN SLIDE. PRIVAS, FRANCE, Feb. 27.—Many persons are missing as the result of a landslide to-day in the Peil River valley. A dam 400 feet long and 180 feet high was thrown across the river by the slide. Last year, hardly a four-cylinder car was sold at a price which would buy a good Six. Men changed from two cylinders to four to get more frequent power strokes. Now, to get continuous power, they are changing from Fours to Sixes. To get smooth-running Sixes men paid a high price, carried heavy weight, paid extra fuel cost. Now this is all changed. In the new HUDSON Six-40, all these things are in favor of the Six. The Four is now the extravagant car. The Six, with all its other advantages, is also the more economical. . Mr. Coffin Did It This HUDSON Six-40 is the latest achievement of Howard E. Coffin, our great engineer. It was he who built the first high-grade Four to sell under $3,000. Then the first to sell under $2OOO. It was he who built the HUDSON Six-54, the first high-grade Six to sell under $3,000. Last year that car became the most popular Six in the world. Now he builds this Six-40—the first quality Six to sell under $2,000. The first to under-weigh, and the first to Georgian, Conscience Pursued, Surrenders SAN JOSE ,CAL., Feb. 28.—D. W. Robinson, of Americus, Ga., to-night surrendered himself. Robinson said he had defaulted with money belong ing to the Woodmen, Odd Fellows and the Bank of Americus, Ga., and is un able to stani the strain upon his con science any longer. He asked the po lice to have an officer sent here after him. Robinson is 30 years old, He says, while treasurer of the Odd Fel lows, he embezzled $5OO, and $l,OOO from the Woodmen and $5OO from the Bank of Americus. He was a postal clerk. BEATEN BY BEGGAR, CHICAGO, March 2..—Michael Mc- Donald, aged 81, is in a serious con dition as the result of being beaten by a beggar who had asked hini for a dime last night, McDonald did not have a dime, aad when he refused the beggar’'s request the man beat him. A neighbor found the aged man nearly frozen in the SNOw, show less operative cost than Fours of equal power. New Ideals in Beauty This HUDSON Six-40 has the new streamline body. No angles at the dash.‘ This accords with European vogue, and Europe always sets the body fashions. The old-type bodies will soon be out-of date. The gasoline tank is in the dash. The extra tires come ahead of the front door. All hinges are concealed. There are two disappearing extra tonneau seats. All instruments and gauges are within reach of the driver. There is a “One-Man” top, covered with Pantasote, with quick-adjustable side curtains, A rain-vision windshield, dim ming headlights, left-side drive, Delco patented system of electric starting and lighting. ¢ The design and equipment are almost identical with the new HUDSON Six -94. And that we consider the hand somest car of the year, Up to six months ago, no car at any price offered 50 many attractions. * Hudson dealers everywhere now have this car on show. Write us for Howard E. Coffin’s 55-page book, and we will direct you where to see the car. Then try it out. Itrides like constant coasting.
