officers.

est sorority founded in the
United States on the campus
of Howard University in
Washington, D.C., in 1908.

Nunes to attend
St. Marys student will travel to
Washington, D.C., for events
Camden students achieve
dean’s list at Reinhardt
Zachary Michael Nunes, a
student at Mamie Lou Gross
Elementary School, will
soon travel to Washington,
D.C., to participate in a
People to People Leadership
Summit.
Nunes, along with fellow
students from around the
country, will take part in the
2013 presidential inaugura
tion.
During the program,
Nunes will have the oppor
tunity to learn about effec
tive leadership and how to
develop his own leadership
abilities, as well as how to
apply those skills upon re
turning home. Hands-on ac
tivities, such as touring the
nation’s capital and learning
how the government works,
relevant professional speak
ers, small-group workshops
and visits to significant local
venues can help Nunes form
a new perspective on the im
portance of good leadership.
“Attending an event like
the presidential inauguration
does not come around every
day. I’m glad that I am able
to have this opportunity,”
said Nunes.
People to People Leader
ship Summits are held in
prestigious venues around
the country and provide stu
dents a chance to explore the
various aspects of leadership
in specific contexts.
Participants also gain in
sights to guide their educa
tional and professional
careers and benefit from a
strong focus on college ad
missions. Through work
shops, presentations,
excursions and discussions,

the hosting communities.

global leadership and cul
tural diversity.
Two local students have
been named to the dean’s
list for fall semester 2012 at
Reinhardt University.
These students are Tyler
Spinnenweber of Woodbine
and Troy Stephens of
Kingsland.

student must maintain a 3.5
