St. Marys photographer Jackie DeBusk will teach a digital photography workshop March
2 in Darien at Fort King George Historic Site.

teach photo workshop
St. Marys photographer
Jackie DeBusk will conduct
a digital photography work
shop Saturday, March 2, at
Fort King George Historic
Site in Darien.
The presentation will
begin at 10 a.m. in the the
ater with hands-on activities
and will conclude at 4 p.m.
after a practice shoot in the
park.
Participants will learn
how to take their single lens
reflex and bridge or pro
sumer cameras off auto and
begin to apply exposure,
metering and white balance
settings, as well as learn
about focus area, histograms
and principles of sound
composition.
The workshop fee is $20,
payable to the instructor
ahead of time or at the door.
It is limited to 25 and pre
registration is recom
mended.
A portion of the fee will
go to the park so no addi
tional park fees will be
taken.

Simon attended
57th inauguration
Janice Simon, a junior at
Camden County High
School, attended the 57th
presidential inaugural cele
bration in January.
During her stay, Simon
heard from dynamic speak
ers, such as Condoleezza
Rice who served as President
George W. Bush’s National
Security Advisor during his
first term and as Secretary of
State during his second term.
Simon said she could listen
to Rice all day.
She also heard from jour
nalist and anchorman Nick
Clooney and investigative
journalist Bob Woodward.
Simon learned about the
presidency and the Constitu
tion and attended President
Barack Obama’s inaugura
tion on the National Mall,
which she said was a moving
experience.
Simon is the daughter of
Johnny and Andrea Simon of
St. Marys.

Camden students earn honors, graduate
Two local students have
been named to the dean’s list
at Columbus State Univer
sity by completing the fall
2012 semester with at least
12 credit hours and a 3.6 or
higher grade point average.
These students are Ambri-
onna Dallas of St. Marys,
majoring in biology, and
Michael Holliday of Kings
land, majoring in marketing.
