CCHS theater performance opens Feb. 21
The Camden County
High School theater season
will experiment with a new
theater experience when it
presents Jack Neary’s senti
mental comedy, “Jerry
Finnegan’s Sister,” at the
CCHS auditorium Thursday
through Sunday, Feb. 21-24.
Performances are held at 7
p.m. each day through Satur
day. The Sunday perform
ance is a 2 p.m. matinee.
Tickets are $7 for adults and
$6 for students if purchased
in advance. Advance tickets
can be purchased at the
Kingsland Welcome Center,
the Kingsland depot building
and the Tribune & Georgian
office. All tickets at the door
will be $8. Tickets are limited
to just 200 seats per show.
Brian Dowd, 23, who grew
up living next door to his best
friend, Jerry Finnegan, re
ceives a phone call telling
him that Jerry’s sister, Beth, is
getting married. The call
leads to a series of flashbacks
from the age of 7 up to the
present day, and to Brian’s re
alization of what might have
been — and what could still
come to pass.
But time is now quickly
running out. Throughout
their lives together, it seemed
that Brian could never find
the right words to connect
with Beth, and he is down to
one last chance. Will he suc
ceed this time? This delight
ful, heart-warming family
comedy features the talents
of CCHS sophomores P.J.
Smith as Brian and Hannah
Rogers as Beth, both of
whom are appearing in their
first major roles on the
CCHS stage.
“Jerry Finnegan’s Sister”
marks a milestone for the
main stage season as the
award-winning theater pro
gram plays with experimental
theater concepts. Director
Jason Hill chose to use the
production to explore a more
intimate theater setting — a
particular challenge in a
space with more than 1,200
seats. The audience will share
the stage with the cast, limit
ing the seating capacity to
just 200 seats per show, cre
ating an environment that
brings the audience more
fully into the theater experi
ence.
With limited seating, pa
trons are encouraged to pur
chase tickets early at one of
the local ticket outlets. Pa
trons may also purchase tick
ets online at www.selling
ticket.com/cchs. For more
information, contact the
CCHS Theatre at (912) 729-
7463 or visit www.cchsthe-

ney characters played by
camp attendees.
According to Lisa Allen,
owner of Lisa Allen Dance
Works, every attendee will
be a part of the grand show
case at the end of the two-
week camp.
“The ‘Love Disney’ expe
rience will enhance self ex
pression and help build self
confidence while the chil
dren learn to sing, dance
and act,” Allen said. “Even
seasoned performers will
find the camp refreshing
and an opportunity to polish
their skills and build their
resume.”

Megan Friese, owner of
The Friese Studio of Music,
said, “Last year’s theater
camp was so successful, we
decided it must be a yearly
event. Parents and the pub

much we accomplished in
the two-week period, and
many of our attendees went
on to participate in subse

out of our area.”
Barbara Ryan, director of
St. Marys Little Theatre
(SMLT), said that the 2013
Musical Theatre Camp is an
official program of SMLT’s
