Gowen, to Corey Blake Mur
rell, son of Gene and Linda
Murrell of Waynesville.
The bride-elect is a 2006
graduate of Camden County
High School and a 2012
graduate of Brenau Univer
sity, where she received a
bachelor’s degree in business
to marry
administration. She is em
ployed with the Federal Law
Enforcement Training Cen
ter in Brunswick.
The groom-elect is a 1996
graduate of Brunswick High
School. He is the owner of
Murrell Construction in
Kingsland.
The wedding will be held
Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at
Kingsland First United
Methodist Church. Invita
tions will be sent.

in June ceremony
Wendy Steele of St. Marys
announces the marriage of
her daughter, Erica Steele, to
Ben Akroyd on June 1, 2013,
at Walker’s Landing, located
at the Omni Amelia Island
Plantation Resort in Amelia
Island, Fla.
The ceremony was offici
ated by family friend, Vicar
David Burch.
The bride graduated from
Camden County High
School in 2004 and went on
to the University of Georgia,
where she earned a master’s
degree in social work in
2008. She works for the State
of North Carolina as a voca
tional rehabilitation coun
selor.
She wore a lace Mori Lee
gown with a crystal-beaded
sash. Her attendants included
her matron of honor, Jennifer
(Steele) Cannon, and brides
maids Kelly Page, Danielle
Dorton, Heather Purcell,
Tiffany Gillespie, Victoria
Inman, Christina Dozier and
Amy Akroyd.
The groom, son of Duane
Akroyd and Cathy Akroyd of
Raleigh, N.C., graduated
from North Carolina State
University in 2005 with a
bachelor’s degree in political
science.
He works for The Arc of
North Carolina as the assis
tant director of communica
tions.
The groom’s attendants in
cluded best man Zack Med
ford, and groomsmen Chris
Cousins, David Williams, Joe
Overby, Brandon Lawrence
and Mike Boso.
The reception was also
held at Walker’s Landing.
After honeymooning in the
Dominican Republic, the
couple returned to Raleigh,
where they reside.

dean's list, Culver-Stock-
ton College requires stu

academic standards. Dean’s
list students have earned
between a 3.5 and 3.99

were enrolled in a mini
mum of 12 hours, with no
grade lower than a C.
