Robin Mainor Receives “Star of the Year” Award
R obin Mainor, a registrar in the Admissions
department at the Southeast Georgia
»Health System Camden Campus, was
presented with the 2012 Star of the Year award
at the Celebration of the Stars dinner held on
Monday, June 17, in the Delegal Room of the
King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort on St.
Simons Island.
“We know our Health System is only as good as our
people, and all of our nominees are clear winners,”
said Gary R. Colberg, FACHE, president and CEO.
“It is their passion and compassion that sends our
patients home with smiles on their faces. On behalf
of the senior team and board members, I extend
heartfelt thanks to each of you.”
The Health System launched the Star of
the Quarter program in 2010 as part of the
organization’s initiative to recognize team

members who exceed expectations. Each quarter,
Health System team members nominate their
peers for above and beyond performance in their
interactions with patients, visitors and/or fellow
team members. From among the Stars of the
Quarter, the Star of the Year is selected.
Mainor, a resident of Woodbine, Ga., joined
the Health System in 2007. She was selected as
Star of the Quarter in December 2012 for her
compassion and constant willingness to help
others. Her nomination described how she went
out of her way to assist a family of five who had
been involved in an automobile accident during
a trip from Pennsylvania to Florida. Fortunately,
their injuries were minor, but damages to their
car rendered it inoperable. Being Sunday, the
local rental car company was closed and the
nearest open agency was in Jacksonville. At the
end of her shift, Mainor drove the family to the
towing company to retrieve their belongings and
then drove them to Jacksonville where they were
able to rent a car and be on their way.
During the ceremony’s closing remarks Carl
Alexander, chair of the Glynn-Brunswick
Memorial Hospital Authority, acknowledged
the contributions of each Star of the Quarter
and the Star of the Year. “The consistent and
extraordinary level of compassion and genuine
caring demonstrated by each of you is inspiring,”
said Alexander. “Every member of the Board
appreciates your efforts to provide great service
and great patient care to our communities.”
In addition to Mainor, the 2012 Stars of the
Quarter considered for the annual award included:
