Coastal Chic Decor also offers supplies necessary for re
vamping furniture projects.
A variety of decor, furni
ture, paint, finishes and
supplies is now available in
downtown St. Marys.
Coastal Chic Decor, lo
cated inside the Salt River
Antique Shop at 122 Os
borne St., features a com
plete line of Paint de la
Mar paints, Fiddles and
Sons wax finishes, brushes,
furniture and decor, in ad
dition to custom furniture
work.
“We also teach Chalk It
Up paint classes, where you
will learn everything you
need to know about how to
‘shabby chic’ your furnish
ings and decor,” owner
Deborah Cottle said.
Classes are $75 and in
clude all supplies- a small
item to paint is the only
thing that is needed. Other
items like paint supplies
vary from $16-38, while
pricing varies for furniture
and decorations.
The shop opened in June,
after Cottle spent years
painting personal projects
for friends and family.
“I love painting and cre
ating,” she said. “I have al
ways loved home decor and
decorating on a budget. It is
amazing to see a worn piece
of furniture come back to
life with a little paint and
love.”
According to Cottle, the
store’s most popular item is
paint. After meeting the
creator of Paint de la Mar,
Lisa Reinke, Cottle said she
loved the product and de
cided to support a local
brand. This paint “of the
sea” is made locally in
Florida and is specially for
mulated with chalk addi
tives for coastal or shabby
chic projects, Cottle said.
Classes are also exciting,
Cottle said, and are avail
able most Wednesdays and
every other haturday at the
store.
“I am motivated by the
transformation that occurs
every day with my own
pieces and people in class,”
Cottle said. “It gives me
great joy to see students
walk in with a not-so-great
table and leave three hours
later with a masterpiece.”
Cottle also said she can
bring classes to other loca
tions, adding that she re
cently held a class for a
bridal shower where the
bridal party painted furni
ture for the bride’s new
home.
“The options are limit
less,” she said.
Coastal Chic Decor is
open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
every day and offers promo
tions on its Facebook page
