Three charities receive
aid from womens club
The Osprey Cove Wom
ens Club recently honored
three Camden County char
ities by giving each group a
check for $2,150.
The three charities se
lected to receive the dona
tions were True Freedom
Learning Center, Camden
House and Caring Hearts.
The monies came from
dues paid by members of the
Womens Club and from
money raised by the sale of a
highly successful cookbook
published by the club titled
“Sweet Charity.” The book
brought in about $4,200.
“We are so pleased that we
were able to donate a signifi
cant amount of money to
these worthy charities,” said

“The donations came about
as the result of a lot of dedi
cation and hard work by our
members. Those members
made the cookbook a success
by submitting favorite
dessert recipes and then
doing everything it takes to
turn those recipes into a very
enjoyable book.”
The three charities were
selected by a vote of the
membership from a list of 12
nominations. To be consid
ered, charities had to be
based in Camden County.
“We had so very many
worthy candidates and it was
very difficult for the mem
bership to narrow that list
down to the three finalists,”
said Pat Hill and Mary-Ann
O’Connor, the club’s com
munity service co-chairs.
“These three charities repre
sent all that is good about
our county but they also
demonstrate the great need
there is for charities willing
to help those in need and
those less fortunate.”
