The Crooked River Ele
mentary School Council
meeting will be held at 6 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 7, in the con
ference room. All parents and
interested citizens are wel
come to attend. The meeting
is open to the public.
The CrossLink Missions
annual auction will begin at
6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at
the warehouse located next
to Kingsland Methodist
Church. The auction is open
to the public. All items will be
auctioned off and all pro
ceeds will go to help families,
individuals and children in
need for the holidays. Every
thing must go. CrossLink Mis
sions is a nonprofit
organization, which can be
checked out on Facebook.
Wee Read Camden will
hold a fundraiser on Thurs
day, Nov. 7, at Ruby Tuesday
in Kingsland as part of their
GiveBack program. A
flier/coupon is required in
order for Wee Read to re
ceive 20 percent of pur
chases. The fliers can be
picked up at Ruby Tuesday or
from a Rotary Club of Cam
den County member.
The Camden County Re
publican Women will hold
their monthly meeting at 7
p.m. on Nov. 7 at the Camden
County Annex behind the
Camden County library on
Gross Road. The program
speaker will be District 167
Rep. Jeff Chapman, who is
running for congressional
District 1 to replace outgoing
Congressman Jack Kingston.
Single Again, a growing
group of active adults, has
been meeting at The Green
Room Sicilian Restaurant
every first and third Thurs
day for almost a year. The
next meeting will be held
Nov. 7. All are invited to join
who are interested in mak
ing new friends and enjoy
ing activities while creating
a positive lifestyle. The
group orders food at 5:30
p.m., which is served up
stairs. Dress is casual. New
business begins when
everyone has finished eat
ing. The group occupies the
loft until closing at 8 p.m. so
there is plenty of time for so
cializing. There is hope after
divorce, death of a spouse
or the end of a long-term re
lationship so all those inter
ested are invited to share
their ideas for making life

ishable food drive to help

A digital nature photogra
phy basics class will be held
from 8:30 a.m. to noon Sat
urday, Nov. 9, at Crooked
River State Park. Those at
tending should bring a digi
tal camera to learn how to
compose a photo for maxi
mum impact, employ tech
niques to overcome
challenging lighting and pro
duce excellent photos with
any digital camera. The cost
of the class is $30 per per
son plus $5 for a park pass.
The class is for adults only.

as space is limited to 20

The Helping Ted Winter
Festival will be held from 9
a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov.
9, at 302 S. Lee St. The
community is invited to enjoy
food, live performances,
games, big money raffles,
face painting, products from
different vendors and fun for
the whole family. There will
be more than 50 raffles and
lots of prizes, kids games
and letters to Santa. There
will also be a live perform
ance by local artist Cassie
Gordon. Booths will be avail
able and there will be
bounce houses and prizes

All post offices in Camden
County will be closed on
Monday, Nov. 11, in obser
vance of Veterans Day.
There will be no residential
or post office box delivery.
Normal mail service will re
sume on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
A Quilters' Guild is being
developed in Camden
County. Meetings will be
held from 5 to 6 p.m. the
second Tuesday of every
month, beginning Nov. 12, at
the Camden Community
Recreation Center in Kings
land.

The U.S. Coast Guard
Flotilla 14-1 recreational
boating safety class will be
offered from 8 a.m. to 4:30
p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at
the Club at Osprey Cove.
The club is located at 123
Osprey Cove Drive in St.
Marys. The class qualifies as
an approved boating safety
course under the newly re
vised Georgia boating safety
law. The class is limited to
the first 25 registrants. Reg
istration will begin at 7:30
a.m. The class is free and
lunch will be available. At
tendees should bring a pen
cil. Those who attend the
course and pass the exam
will qualify for a boating
safety course completion
certificate and a Florida

The Santa Express train
rides will be held Saturday,
Nov. 23, Nov. 30 and Dec. 7
in St. Marys. The train de
parts at 10 a.m., noon, 2
p.m. and 4 p.m. Riders will
go through scenic wood
lands and marshlands to
Santa's Village. Santa will
climb aboard for the return
trip with a souvenir for every
child. Tickets are $17 for
adults and $11 for children.

Zumbathon to raise money

a special story hour. Hardy

"PJ The Water Breathing
Dragon" are his recent
books, which will be for sale
