St. Marys Elementary School’s
Title I stakeholder meeting will
be held at 8 a.m. Monday, Sept.
18. All parents and community
members are invited to attend the
meeting, which will be held at the
school, located at 600 Osborne
St. The purpose of the meeting
is to review school goals, family
engagement budgetary needs,
the family engagement plan and
family-school compacts. These
items will be made available at
the school, on the school’s web
site and as requested prior to the
meeting. Those who are unable to
attend the meeting but who would
like to offer feedback for the plan
may submit feedback via email

The St. Marys Public Library will
present an astronomy program
from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday,
Sept. 18. For more information,

Ceil Smith, assistant director of
the Three Rivers Regional Library
System, will give an overview of
the system’s digital services and
how to use them at 4 p.m. Mon
day, Sept. 18, at the Camden
County Public Library. Patrons are

The Kings Bay Chapter of the
Military Officers Association of
America will hold its next dinner
meeting Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the
Osprey Cove Club in St. Marys.
The social hour will start at 5:30
p.m. immediately followed by
dinner. The guest speaker will be
state Rep. Jason Spencer. MOAA
membership is available to any
active, reserve, retired or former
commissioned or warrant officer
from the Army, Air Force, Navy,
Marines, Coast Guard or Public
Health Corps. Those interested

The Camden Roundtable will

Camden Middle School’s Title I
stakeholder input meeting will be

of the meeting is to jointly develop

and the school-parent compact.

St. Marys Little Theatre will
present “The Secret Garden” at
7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept.

The Three Rivers Regional
Library System is bringing a
traveling planetarium for an “As
tronomy Day” at 4 p.m. Monday,
Sept. 25 to the Camden County
Public Library. The program is for
ages 5 and up. Those who have
problems with small spaces are
advised that this program will be
held in an enclosed space.

The St. Marys Convention and
Visitors Bureau Authority will hold

The Southeast Georgia Health
System Wellness on Wheels
(WOW) mobile health vehicle will
provide mammograms from 8:30
a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept.
28, at McKinney Community
Health Center, which is located at
711 Charles Gilman Ave. in King
sland. All mammograms require a
physician’s order. Insurance is ac
cepted and financial assistance is
available for patients who qualify.

The annual King of Peace Epis
copal Church Holiday Bazaar and
International Food Fest will be
open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sat
urday, Sept. 30, on the church
grounds at 6230 Laurel Island
Parkway in Kingsland. The bazaar
will host local and regional ven
dors selling holiday arts, crafts,
derby hats, jewelry, clothing,
greeting cards, gift baskets, dec
orations, kettle corn and much
more. The bake sale will feature
homemade baked goods con
tributed by church volunteers.
There will also be activities for
young children. Those interested
in being a vendor may call the

find out more about the applica
tion process and if there are any
outdoor spaces available.

The 26th anniversary Taste
of Amelia Island gala will be
held Sunday, Oct. 1, at the
Omni Amelia Island Plantation
in Florida. The cocktail hour
starts at 6 p.m. with tastings
running from 7 to 9 p.m. Dress
is semi-formal. There will be
complimentary wine, live chef
demonstrations, live music and
a 50-50 raffle. Tickets are $100

Cyclists who want to make the
journey from St. Marys to Fer-
nandina Beach, Fla., by water
can crew one of two “War Boats”
Saturday, Oct. 7, complements of
Up-The-Creek Expeditions and
the St. Marys Riverkeeper. Each
boat holds a crew of nine so 18
total have the opportunity to make
the one-hour crossing into Cum
berland Sound to the downtown
marina in Fernandina. The bikes
will ride the ferry and meet their

Tom Sawyer comes to life on a
ride into yesteryear at noon, 2
p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct.
7 on train rides during Railroad
