Bethany Home Nursing Center
Yes, there is a nursing home in Jenkins County. It is one of
the most known facilities in the State of Georgia. Originally
founded in Vidalia, Ga. Bethany Home for Ladies was only
the beginning. At the beginning, the facility was owned and
operated by the Primitvie Baptist Denomination.
Later on in 1950, the Doctor Thompson Hospital in
Millen was purchased and it became a men's nursing facility.
Currently, this nursing center is home to men and women.
Bethany in recent years went through some much need
renovations and was bought out by Pruitt Health and the
name became Pruitt Health at Bethany.
This local nursing center has maintained compliance with
the standards of ethics put forth by the Georgia Nursing
Home Association throughout the many years of their
operation.
Since then, this special home in Jenkins County has
offered the citizens of our county and other counties, a
wonderful place to live and great nurses and employees to
take care of their daily needs along with medical needs.

’’The Lake Isle of Innisfree”
By Sam Eades, Publisher
for
The Times
I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree,
And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles
made;
Nine bean-rows will I have there, a hive for the
honey-bee,
And live alone in the bee-loud glade.
And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes
dropping slow,
Dropping from the veils
of the morning to where
the cricket sings;
There midnight’s all a
glimmer, and noon a
purple glow,
And evening full of the
linnet’s wings.
I will arise and go now,
for always night and day
I hear lake water lapping
with low sounds by the
shore;
While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements
grey,
I hear it in the deep heart’s core.
