Snellville Man Arrested In
Joint Operation with MPD
-Special to The Times
On March 6, 2024, authorities of the
Gwinnett County Police Department and the
Gwinnett County Sheriffs Office's Fugitive
Unit arrested Jermaine Morgan following an
undercover operation where Morgan believed
he was soliciting a child. The investigation
began on January 2, 2024, when officers
of the Millen Police Department's Internet
Suppression Team began an undercover
chat with a suspect who, to his knowledge,
was communicating with a 14-year-old
girl. Morgan acknowledged the age of the
decoy in the chat and maintained a sexual
conversation. The suspect solicited the
undercover officer for obscene images of
herself while discussing sexual actions. He
also sent images of his private parts to the
undercover decoy. Millen officers determined
that Morgan lived in the Snellville area and
requested assistance from the Gwinnett
County Police Department. Upon receiving
the investigation, detectives of GCPD were
able to confirm Morgan's identity and
secure arrest warrants. Morgan is currently
incarcerated in the Gwinnett County Jail,
charged with Obscene Internet Contact with
a Child and Child Molestation by Electronic
Device. He is presently being held with no
bond. The Millen Police Department would
like to thank the Gwinnett County Police
Department and Sheriffs Department for
their assistance in this investigation.
