Golly and the
portable Gate
Hey everyone! I am growing like a weed! I am
getting so big. My Dad says, I am getting taller and
heavier too! I am your typical Golden Doodle.
This week I want to tell you about one of my
families, new friends, Golly. This little diva (Golly)
lives in a town near by and her Mom has a shop
named after her. Her owners name is Fran. And the
shop is named "Golly's Goodies". This was the first
time, Fran (Gully's owner) had decided to put one of
her dogs in a full blooded dog competition, and she
was nervous. Golly on the other hand was a pretty
easy-going dog, as long as she got her way, she didn't
mind doing anything. She could just look at them
with those puppy dog eyes, and usually got exactly
what she was aiming for. Golly was a funny dog and
definitely a diva. One year, the whole family went to
the national dog show in Louisville, Kentucky. It’s
a showcase for all things dog, and a chance to get
together with all their Griff friends. (Girlfriends)
Golly and Hope’s boy, Roc, were there to compete
in the Obedience trial at the show. You see, Golly
and Roc knew each other from being friends and
hanging out. One night, the family decided to go to
dinner and leave Golly at the hotel. Well, that did not
sit well, with Golly, however, she would just have to
deal with it. After Fran and the family finally arrived
back to the hotel room, they found they couldn’t get
back in the room. There was obviously something
blocking the door. After quite a few attempts at little
shoves, slowly pushing the obstruction back, they
discovered that Golly had rolled her portable crate all
the way across the room and jammed it against the
door. Apparently the princess objected to being left
behind while they were able to go to dinner and see
Roc. Even though she would be able to see Roc the
next day at the competition. It is very funny how we
can act sometimes, when we don’t get our way! I am
learning that very well too!
See you next time!

The Millen Fire Department wants to remind you,
“now is the time to service those smoke detectors and

THE
CORNER
St. Patrick’s Day
Enjoyed By All
The Ages
-Diane Wasden
[ remember my days of innocence,
[ was young and naive.
[ had no worries,
no responsibilities.
[ used to run in our backyard,
[ used to sleep all day.
[ used to laugh with joy,
[ used to joke and play.
The early morning rain left as quick as it came,
out came the sun to dry up the rain.
[ had awakened and found myself in the mysterious
and of Ireland,
and as I looked about everyone was wearing green, “
it was St. Patrick’s Day “.
Then I heard it...a wee little voice laughing,
[ briefly caught a glimpse until finally he came into
focus.
A three-foot-tall leprechaun dressed up all in green
lolding a four-leaf clover, smoking a pipe,
He was a happy little guy running circles all around
me, he seemed harmless.
Across the sky above I surprisingly saw a beautiful
aalate of color,
t was an original etching “A Rainbow “which seemed
to have no end.
Pastel colors of orange, yellow, green, blue and purple,
An array of splendor painted by God’s own hands.
Then it happened out of nowhere that little
eprechaun Kicked me in my shin,
with his tiny black boot.
Tag your it “he yelled “race you to my pot of gold at
the end of the rainbow “.
Being a competitive person and I love a great
challenge,
[ told him I would greatly accept his challenge.
He then handed me his four leaf clover and said
“good luck you’re gonna need it! ‘,
and just like that poof he was gone, I couldn’t find
lim anywhere, where did that little
rascal go ?
[ had no time to waste, and time was ticking,
[ was walking up the arch of the rainbow on my quest.
The leprechaun jumped in front of me telling me I
must move faster than this,
again, poof he was gone like a genie in a bottle.
[ began to feel guilty trespassing on God’s artwork,
[ was starting to feel like Dorothy in the wizard-of-oz,
bllowing the yellow
jrick road.
And my man behind the curtain was a three-foot
eprechaun pulling my strings,
[ had to stop and pull myself together, he wasn’t
gonna let me take his pot of gold.
[ wondered how many others he suckered into this,
then I woke up to my mom telling me to get me butt
out of bed.
“if you don’t want to get pinched put on something
green “
“hurry up, got to get to the parade in Savannah {the
figgest St. Patrick’s Day Parade
in our country}.
The phrase ‘“seeing is believing is misleading,
It is really an expression of skepticism that means, “ I
won’t believe it unless I see it “.
However, true belief means that we accept something
even though we don’t see it
or understand it,
whether we are believers or nonbelievers’ life can
sometimes be beyond our
control of understanding.
[ am not always sure what I believe or how to express
what I believe,
jut I do love the fact that we all can use imagination
which I do believe is a
lealthy means of growing up.
St. Patrick’s Day is wonderfully played out for all the
ages to enjoy along with many other
lolidays.
fife is too precious to waste, keep all fork lures alive,
et that child in you come out and pass
It on down to through your children and there’s and
so on.
