Middle School Baseball Comes to An End
After a successful regular season on the diamond,
the Jenkins County Middle School War Eagles team
fell on Monday in the regional playoffs. The game
was a back-and-forth battle between the second-
seeded South Tattnall Middle School and the third-
seeded Jenkins County Middle School. In the top of
the sixth, the game was tied 3-3.
In the top of the sixth the War Eagles would
add four runs and then in the seventh inning, they
would add three more. The War Eagle bats were hot,
and players were getting around the bases. However,
South Tattnall would not give in. They started
putting the bats on the ball and suddenly the lead
began to dwindle. With two outs and the lead cut to
one, South Tattnall got a single. After a walk, with
runners on every base, a hit ball was driven to left
field and the South Tattnall walked the game off.
The War Eagles finish the successful season with a
final record of 9-8.
