A Seed From
The Sower
-Michael Guido
Keys to Success
Vince Lombardi, the legendary football coach
of the Green Bay Packers, knew what it took to be
victorious. Once when asked the formula, he replied,
“Dedication, hard work and sacrifice.”
When his team met for practice, he would remind
them that “You’re here to play football. And I’m here
to see you play as well as your God-given talents and
abilities will allow you to play. And that means total
dedication!”
But dedication was not enough. Lombardi was
known as a coach who was relentless in making his
teams produce. He knew that dedication by itself
would not be enough. It would take long hours of
practice and preparation, perseverance and pain,
suffering and sacrifice. It took every talent and every
ability that every player possessed to become winners
and champions.
Paul wrote, “Do not let any part of your body
become a tool of wickedness to be used for sinning.
Instead, give yourselves completely to God since you
have been given new life.”
God gave us a new life to use for His glory. We
must make every sacrifice for Him to succeed.
Prayer: Help us, Father, to commit our minds
and hearts to You and then develop every skill and
talent You have given us to work for Your Kingdom.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Scripture For Today: Do not let any part of
your body become a tool of wickedness to be used for
sinning. Instead, give yourselves completely to God
since you have been given new life. Romans 6:13

Encouragement

”it seemed good to me also, having followed all
things closely for some time past, to write an orderly
account for you, most excellent Theophilus, - Luke
1:3
Luke was an “everyday evangelist”. He was a
physician by training and trade, but he was made
an evangelist by Jesus’s calling. When Luke was
saved, Jesus made him an evangelist. In fact, most
of the people who know of Luke know him not as a
physician, but as the author of the Gospel of Jesus
Christ. Luke’s legacy through the ages is that of
someone who chose to tell others about Jesus!
What is an “everyday evangelist”? To start, we
need to define what evangelism is. Evangelism is
a combo-word made up of two ideas - “to tell” and
“good news”. When you put these two ideas together
you could say evangelism is “gospeling” - the verb
form of the gospel. Gospel means “good news” and
“gospeling” or evangelism, is telling the good news!
Evangelism is not hard. You don’t need to know
how to preach a sermon to be an everyday evangelist.
You don’t need to have a book of the Bible memorized
to be an evangelist. An everyday evangelist only
needs two things - a willing heart, and the Gospel
message. What is the Gospel? If you have trusted in
Jesus, you should know the Gospel. The same Gospel
that saved you, saves others.
This is the Gospel - you have sinned against God,
and your sin separates you from Him. You cannot
do enough good to please God or to get to heaven
by your own good works. But God loved you so
much that He chose to send His son Jesus to die
on the cross for your sins. Jesus lived a perfect life
in obedience to God and died on the cross as God’s
sacrifice. After Jesus died, He was buried in a tomb,
but on the third day, He rose from the grave, and He
is alive today! If you want to be forgiven of your sins,
you must admit your sins to God and ask Jesus to
save you. Everyone who calls on the name of Jesus
will be saved! There is no other name under heaven
by which you can be saved.
An everyday evangelist is a follower of Jesus who
is willing to take the Gospel message with them
everywhere they go. An everyday evangelist is ready
and willing to share the Gospel with others at home,
at work, and in the grocery store - if God is leading
them to do it. An everyday evangelist has a prayer
list of lost people they are praying for to be saved. An
everyday evangelist says, “Here I am Lord, send me.”
Will you be an everyday evangelist?

of the storm, rushing from one accident scene to
another. Fallen trees littered roadways, posing
hazards to motorists and pedestrians alike. Despite
the challenges, authorities managed to swiftly
respond to emergencies, ensuring public safety to the
best of their abilities.
The impact of the severe weather was felt most
acutely by residents who found themselves without
power. Approximately 5,000 households were
plunged into darkness as the storm knocked out
electricity grids across the county.
Local utility companies worked diligently to restore
power to affected areas, dispatching repair crews to
assess damage and make necessary repairs.
As the county continues to recover from the effects
of the storm, authorities urge residents to remai | n
vigilant and take precautions to ensure their safety
during severe weather events. By staying informed
and prepared, individuals can minimize the impact
of future storms and help build a more resilient
community. Photos bv D. Hearn
