The EBA Spartans boys and girls track
and field teams had a successful regional
tournament. The girls’ team finished in

This week’s photo of the week is Jordan Asbury. The
picture is taken on Sunday night in Atlanta as the Atlanta
Braves were set to play the defending World Series
Champions, the Texas Rangers. The weather took a cold
turn while there, but you could not tell as Jordan was just
excited to be at his favorite place, Truist Park. On that
night, he also arrived early enough for the Blooper the
Mascot chain giveaway that he is proudly wearing.

JCRD IS HEADING
TO STATE
Speed is no stranger to the community of Jenkins
County. And JCRD is proud to announce that
Millen, Georgia is the home of not 1 but 4 Georgia
Recreation and Park Association (GRPA) District 1
Class C Region Champions, as well as 10U, 12U, and
14U Region 4x100 Relay champions. Although we
only had 18 participating youth at our first track
finals, the determination of those faithful few helped us succeed.
The following Youth will be traveling to East
Jefferson High School on April 26th & 27th to
compete for the State Title.
1600 Meter(M)- Brody Ondriezek
800 M- Berklee Bozard
100 M- David Jenkins
400 M- Walter Cox,
Running Long jump- Zyric Branch & Carson Fryson,
Standing Long Jump- Walter Cox & Courtavious

Johnson, Terrance Johnson, Carson Fryson, and
“Wes Birdwell.

Closing Day Celebration and BBQ Cookoff will be
May 4th at 10AM here at the Rec Dept.
Although we don’t have the large numbers like
other counties, we offer our kids the experience
and the support to stand just as tall as kids in larger
counties. And that’s what always make “Jenkins
County” the team to beat.
