History becoming a
factor in church dispute

Buckhead Forest leaders think their neighborhood contains
enough history for inclusion on the National Register of Historic
Places and that could be a future roadblock for a local church’s ex
pansion plans.
The neighborhood’s more recent history includes battles with
Peachtree Presbyterian Church and Peachtree Road United Meth
odist Church over their increasing need for space.
On March 18, the Georgia Department of Natural Resourc
es informed the Buckhead Forest Civic Association that the neigh-

Lindbergh beat had most
violent crime in 2012

Reports of violent crimes in one of Buckhead’s crime hot spots
were up in 2012, but Atlanta police say the higher numbers are the
result of more crimes being reported by Hispanic residents.
The police beat surrounding the Lindbergh/Morosgo area gen
erated more reports of violent crime in 2012 than any other beat
in Buckhead, data show. Buckhead is located within Atlanta Police
Zone 2, one of six zones in the city of Atlanta.
Maj. Van Hobbs, the Zone 2 commander, said many Hispan
ic residents living in the Lindbergh/Morosgo neighborhood have
