Dr. Lynley S. Durrett grew up in Atlanta, GA. She received
her B.A. degree from Furman University in Greenville, SC
and her M.D. from Mercer University in Macon, GA.
Introducing Obiamaka Mora, M.D.
Obiamaka Mora, M.D. grew up in Columbus, Ohio. She
received her B.S. degree from Kent State University in Kent,
Ohio and her medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Medical
University in Rootstown, Ohio. She received the honor of be
ing inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She has
completed a two year fellowship in Advanced Pelvic Surgery in
Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Mora’s professional expertise includes minimally invasive and robotic surgery
techniques with interests in female pelvic medicine, pelvic reconstructive surgery,
symptomatic fibroid management, endometriosis, and hormone replacement
management.

Susan Hiott was sworn in as city clerk, Brookhaven’s
first official permanent employee, on Jan. 8.

Brookhaven City Council swore in
its first official permanent employee on
Jan. 8.
The council hired Susan Hiott to be
the city clerk, the official record keeper
of the city.
Mayor J. Max Davis said he was ex
cited about finding so qualified a person
to serve as one of the city’s most impor
tant positions. Hiott served as the clerk
for the city of Smryna for 10 years. She
also has experience working as clerk for
the cities of Roswell and Acworth.
“It’s an extremely difficult position
to fill,” Davis said. “There aren’t many
clerks.”
Hiott is a Master Municipal Clerk
and Certified Municipal Clerk, which
are state and international certifications
for achieving the highest educational,
experience and service requirements in
her field.
Hiott has served as a past president
of the Georgia Municipal Clerks and
Finance Officers Association and is a
member of the International Institute of
Municipal Clerks, and Georgia Council
of Court Administrators.
“We have the highest qualified clerk
in the state of Georgia,” Davis said.
