Plans are in the works to cre ate a new trail network in the prop erty to connect surrounding neigh- CITY OF DUNWOODY The city plans in 2020 to refurbish decaying and neglected tennis courts as part of developing a neighborhood park where the former Waterford Swim and Racquet Club was located. Emory buys city-owned buildings for $6.8 million BY DYANA BAGBY dyanabagby@reporternewspapers.net Land the city intended to create park space a decade ago has been approved to be sold to a subsidiary of Emory Healthcare for $6.8 million. The money is expected to be used for future park capital projects. The City Council approved Dec. 9 selling the office buildings at 4553 and 4555 North Shallowford Road to Summit Healthcare Group, a subsidiary of Emory Healthcare. Together the properties total approximate ly 5 acres. Northside Hospital submitted a $5.5 million bid to buy only the 4555 build ing that was rejected. “The money is going to be used for capital See EMORY on page 22 borhoods.
