Mr. Kenneth Wayne
Blount, age 84, of Thomas
ton, died, Monday, May 3,
2021 at his residence.
Mr. Blount was born
Sept. 12, 1936 in Upson
County, to the late James
Carlton Blount and the
late Grace Lawrence
Blount. He worked for the
Thomaston Mills in the
Peerless Division and was
of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his par
ents, he is preceded in
death by his brothers,
Adrian and Larry Blount;
sisters, Colleen Hood and
Marie Daniel; and grand
son, Kyle Hankinson.
Survivors include his
wife, Carolyn Marshall
Blount of Thomaston;
daughters, Karen
(Dwayne) Dilks of Fay
etteville and Vicky Blount
(Joe) White of Thomaston;
sons, Keith (Sissy) Blount
of Thomaston, Terry
Blount of Thomaston, and
Bobby Blount of Thomas

passed Sunday, May 2,
2021 at Upson Regional
Medical Center.

Center and was ordained
an evangelist April 10,
2000.
She is survived by her
husband of 44 years, Mr.
Larry Kendrick of Wood
bury; her mother, Mrs.
Christine Johnson Little of
Thomaston; two children,
Ms. Kizmet Kendrick and
Mr. Larry LaKeith Ken
drick, both of Woodbury;
three brothers, Mr. Larry
(Cora) Little and Mr. Chad
(Kona) Woodard both of
Thomaston, and Mr.
Charles Willis of Atlanta;
five sisters, Mrs. Juanita
Worthy of College Park,
Ms. Martha Jo Willis,
Mrs. Natalie (Kenneth)
Childs, Ms. Philana Acey
and Ms. Kenya Acey, all of
Thomaston; a devoted
cousin, Mrs. Ethel Jean
(Maynard) White of
Thomaston; and a host of
other sisters and brothers-
in-law, nieces, nephews,
cousins, and other rel
atives and friends.

Joseph Pollard
Mr. John Joseph Pol
lard, age 59, of Thomas
ton, passed away
Thursday, May 6, 2021 at
Upson Regional Medical
Center.
Mr. Pollard was born
Nov. 25, 1961 in New Or
leans, La., to Bennie Pol
lard and the late Geraldine
Bourgeois Watson. He
worked as a Ham Radio
operator for 15 years. He
was an avid outdoorsman,
master craftsman in wood
working, and a true arti
san. He was a member of
First Congregation Church
and served his country in
the National Guard.
In addition to his
mother, he was preceded
in death by his brother,
Bennie Frank Pollard, Jr.
Survivors include his
father, Bennie Pollard of
Thomaston; son, John J.
Pollard Jr.; sisters, Sheila
(Joe) Melton and Regina
(Anthony) McCard, both
of Molena; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will
be held Saturday, May 15
at 1 p.m. from Hebron
Community Church on
Hendricks Church Road.
The family will receive
friends one hour prior to
the service at Hebron
Community Church.

Mrs. Shirley Joan El
lerbee Pope, age 69, of
Molena, died Monday,
May 3, 2021 at Harbor-
view Nursing Home.
Mrs. Pope was born
Nov. 20, 1951, in Pike
County, to the late James
Robert Ellerbee and to the
late Martha Lowary Eller
bee. She worked as a beau
tician and was
self-employed, and she
was a member of Mt. View
Holiness Church. She was
preceded in death by her
parents.
Survivors include her
son, Jamie Moody of
Molena; brother, James E.
Ellerbee of Thomaston;
sisters, Virginia Anthony
and Rhunette (Larry) Cog-
bun, both of Molena.
Funeral services were held
Thursday, May 6, from the

Valley Grove Baptist
Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Leslie Stevens,
age 50, of Thomaston,
died Thursday, May 6,
2021 at Upson Regional
Medical Center.
Funeral services for
Mrs. Stevens were held
Sunday, May 9 at North-
side Baptist Church, with
Pastor Jereme Chaney of
ficiating. Interment fol
lowed in Upson Memorial
Gardens.
Mrs. Stevens was born
in Thomaston Feb. 26,
1971. She was a 1989 grad
uate of Upson High School
and had been employed by
Ace Cleaners, Piggly
Wiggly, and Stevens Tire
Company. She was active
with the Band Boosters
and was called "Mama
Leslie" by band students.
Mrs. Stevens was a
member of Shiloh Baptist
Church.
Survivors include her
husband, David Stevens of
Thomaston; her children,
David Lee Stevens of Grif
fin, Jason Derrick Stevens
of Thomaston, Jorden
Noel Thomas of Fairburn,
Ohio, and Jeremy Conner
Stevens of Thomaston; her
mother, Elaine Scott of
Thomaston; two sisters,
Andrea (Ron) Kephart of
LaVernia, Texas, and
Robyn "Berta" Watson
(Albert Solarino) of Clay
ton Victoria, Australia; her
grandmother, Margaret
Tench of Thomaston; her
father-in-law and mother-
