Floyd Bennett Sr.
Mr. James Floyd Ben
nett, Sr., age 71, of Thom
aston, passed away
Thursday, May 13, 2021 at
his residence.
Mr. Bennett was born
Feb. 4,1950, in Pelham, to
the late Louie Bennett and
Lillian Hampton Thomas.
He worked as a carpenter.
In addition to his parents,
he was preceded in death
by his son, James Bennett,
Jr.
Survivors include his
wife, Wanda Bennett;
daughters, Mary Ann Mor
ris, Sherry Bennett, Jen
nifer Phillips, and Rhonda
Peacock; son, Evan
Vaughn; brother, Ronnie
(Leigh) Bennett; and 15
grandchildren and 36
great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will
be announced at a later
date.

Catherine Graci David
Saturday, May 8, 2021,
Graci lost her battle with
heart disease and won her
angel wings.
She was born with con
genital heart disease and,
during her life, it pro
gressed to multiple organ
dysfunction/failure. She
had nine open-heart sur
geries and one brain sur
gery. During all these
trials, Graci never com
plained or had self-pity.
She always had a kind
heart and a great sense of
humor. Everyone that
knew Graci loved her. She
was always thinking of
other people and impacted
so many lives.
Heaven gained a very
special angel Saturday and
her family lost their very
special Miss Graci Sassy
Pants. She was preceded in
death by her grandpar
ents, Judy David and Tim
McRneely, Sr., and great
grandfather, Billy Price.
Survivors include
mother, Chrystie (Tim)
David McKneely; father,
George “Buddy” David;
siblings, Ginni David,
Lawson David, and Ember
David; step-siblings, Noah
McKneely, Haleigh
McKneely, and Levi Boyt;
grandparents, DeAnn Rea
gan, Chris Roberts, George
David III, and Rhonda
McKneely; great-grand
mother, Rhonda Price;
Special aunts and uncles,
Krysha Roberts, Cara
Cook, Amanda Curbow,
Corrie Weldy, Hunter Hill,
Mark Matthews, and B.J.
Price; and best friend and
cousin, Hannah Matthews.
A very special thanks to
cardiothoracic surgeon Dr.
Ranter for working so hard
to repair Graci’s heart, and
cardiologist Dr. Wallace
for taking such good care
of Graci. Thanks also to all
the staff at Egleston for the
care given to Graci
throughout her life, as well
as the care given by the
paramedics and flight crew
during Graci’s last minutes
before she went to be with
Jesus in Heaven.
A celebration of life for
Graci will be held at a later
date.

Rev. Willie
King Dixon
Rev. Willie King Dixon,
age 71, of Thomaston,
passed away Thursday,
May 13, 2021 at Upson Re
gional Medical Center.
Rev. Dixon was born
Sept. 20, 1949 in Taylor
County, to the late Grady
Dixon and the late Zelphia
Phelps Dixon. He worked
for Buddy Jones Florist as
a floral arranger for many
years and also worked at
Clearview Nursing Home.
Rev. Dixon also worked
as a private sitter. He
started preaching at the
age of 16 and was the pas
tor of Crystal Hill Baptist
Church.
In addition to his par
ents, he was preceded in
death by his daughters,
Demetria Smith and Adri
enne Dixon, and also pre
ceded in death by many
brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his
wife, Mrs. Beverly Dixon of
Thomaston; daughter,
Mrs. Stephanie Dixon of
Thomaston; a host of
brothers and sisters-in-law
and sisters and brothers-
in-law; and grandchildren,
Trinity Renea Dixon and
Kolten King Dixon.
Funeral Services were
held Wednesday May 19,
from the chapel of Coggins
Funeral Home. Burial will
follow in Crystal Hill Cem
etery.

Mr. Biven Hance
McLeod, age 96, of Thom
aston, passed away Friday,
May 14, 2021 at his res
idence.
Mr. McLeod was born
May 16, 1924 in Telfair
County, to the late Dave
McLeod and Ella Strom
McLeod. He was formerly
employed with Thomaston
Mills Bleachery Division,
where he worked for 42
years. Mr. McLeod was a
member of East Thomas
ton Baptist Church. He
served his country in the
U.S. Army in the fighter
squadron.
In addition to his par
ents, he was preceded in
death by his wife, Susie
McLeod.
Survivors include his
daughter, Mrs. Elaine
(Ronnie) Owen of Molena;
son, Mr. Mike (Emily)
McLeod of Crescent City,
Fla.; grandchildren, David
(Robin Phillips) Willis,
Todd (Jessica) Willis, and
Chris (Becky) Mulling; and
five great-grandchildren.
Graveside memorial
services will be held Sat
urday May 22, at 11 a.m.

Lamar Salter
Mr. Bobby Lamar
Salter, age 73, of Thomas
ton, passed away, Tuesday,
May 11, 2021 at Upson Re
gional Medical Center.
Mr. Salter was born in
Zebulon Jan. 25, 1948, to
the late Leonard Davis
Salter and the late Evelyn
Gassett Salter. He worked
as a truck driver most of
his life, and was employed
by Super K Express. He
was a loving man, great
husband, dad, brother,
paw paw, Christian, and of
the Baptist faith.
In addition to his par
ents, he was preceded in
death by his brother,
James "Jimmy" Salter.
He is survived by his wife
of 43 years, Janet Fuller
Salter of Thomaston;
daughter, Lorraine
(Johnny) Desnoyer of
Thomaston; step-sons,
Robert "Bob" (Pamela)
Watson of Thomaston and
Craig Watson of Buena
Vista; brother, William
Salter of Molena; sisters,
Frances Nix of Thomaston
and Mildred Walker of
Molena; sister-in-law,
Alice Salter of Meansville;
grandchildren, Jimmie
Desnoyer, Ashley (Tim)
Eaton, and Joey (Deidre)
Desnoyer, all of Thomas
ton, Caleb Watson, Colin
and Blake Peugh, all of Se-
noia; five great-grandchil
dren; and many loved
nieces and nephews spe
cial in his heart. Grand
children who come into
our life for a season, stayed
in our hearts with love, Sa

ples.

held Sunday, May 16, from
