the ball rolling... Mickey said he is humbled and grateful

FOR THIS YEAR... May 29 beginning at noon at
Lincoln Park Playground... They will not have a
parade this year due to COVID-19 precautions...
Just glad our events are starting to make a come
back.
THOMASTON FORD IS NOT GOING OUT OF
BUSINESS... According to general manager Chip Rich
ardson, a shortage of fuel economy-related computer
chips for new vehicles has put automotive manufacturers
two months behind delivering new units to dealers... the
container ship which got stuck in the Suez Canal added
to delays... Ford has assured dealers that inventory would
be “back to normal” in August and September... Good
news is that vehicles currently on the lot were purchased
before a price increase, and Richardson says he’ll pass
the savings along to consumers who are ready to buy.

A pair of orange goggles
lost during a high-speed
chase involving a motorcycle
led Thomaston Police Lt.
Whitney Lawrence to the of
fender last week, resulting in
a felony charge of fleeing or
attempting to elude an officer
for Kyrese Caldwell of Geor
gia Avenue in Thomaston.
Caldwell, 19, rode a dirt
bike near Lawrence’s patrol
vehicle and “took off’ at a
high rate of speed on Edge-
wood Avenue, according to
the report. During the chase,
a pair of orange goggles “flew
off his head,” and Lawrence
retrieved them after losing
sight of the motorcycle.
Lawrence said he later
saw Caldwell on Daniel Street
talking with a group of
people, so he approached the
crowd.
“I showed him the gog
gles and asked him if he
would like them back, and he
stated yes they were his, and
he did want them back,”
Lawrence reported. “I was
able to... place him under ar
rest without incident.”
On the ride to Upson
County Jail, Caldwell told
Lawrence he “did not catch
him on the bike and that he
could not be charged,” the re
port stated. Lawrence ex
plained otherwise.
Caldwell also was
charged with misdemeanors
for no insurance, no helmet,
and no brake lights or work
ing turn signals.
Other unrelated arrests

ported by TPD include the
following:

Indian Trail, possession of

One of the most outrageous
lies ever placed before the
educational system is evolu
tion. A teaching that has no evidence of truth. One
thought that I have is why don’t we see half monkeys
and half humans today? If there is evolution, then
why did that process stop?
The truth is creation, and we find this in Genesis
2:7. “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of
the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath
of life and man became a living soul.”
We hear the so-called smart individuals with all
kinds of degrees, and they hold to a lie born out of
hell that God didn’t create man, but little by little a
process finally produced a human being.
Why don’t people believe the Word of God? It’s
simple just to read and believe the truth that will
stand forever. The answer why many don’t believe
the truth is found in l Corinthians 2:14. “The natural
man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for
they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know
them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
The words found in II Timothy 3:7 explains a lot.
“Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowl
edge of the truth.”

GFL/Waste Industries would like to
encourage Thomaston and Upson
County residents to be conscious of
how trash carts are placed at the
curbside for collection and how
trash is placed properly in the cart
for pickup. Customers should place
cart in the proper position for side
loader trucks to empty carts. Please
remember to place debris in a trash
bag prior to placing in the receptacle
and properly place cart on the curb
the night before pickup. Failing to
bag trash prior to placement in the
container, will cause excess
litter/debris on streets and yards. Do
not overfill the cart causing the lid
not to close. Trash carts should not
have bags on top of them or trash de
bris surrounding them. To report re
pairs for trash carts within the city
limits of Thomaston, please call
(706) 647-6633. If you live outside
the city limits and need to report a
repair for your trash cart, please
