"Sissy" Blount
Mrs. Marie "Sissy"
Blount, age 58, of Thomas-
ton, died Monday, May 24,
2021 at her residence.
Mrs. Blount was born
June 27, 1962 in Boston,
Mass., to the late Pasquale
Dimille and the late Roslyn
Parent Dimille. She worked
for the Upson Board of
Education and in the cafe
teria of Upson Lee. Sissy
was a member of Rock
Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to her par
ents, she was preceded in
death by her brother, Fred
die Gilchrist Dimille.
Survivors include her
husband, Keith Blount of
Thomaston; sons, Kyle
(Shannon) Blount of
Sharpsburg and Jeremy
(Tiffany) Blount of Molena;
sister, Kathy Sellars of
Thomaston; nephews,
Kenny Dimille and Billy
Sellars, Jr.; aunt, Mary
Johnston; best friend,
Wendy South; grandchil
dren, Avery Blount, Kam-
den Kinney, Kaisley Blount,
and David Forrester; and
great-grandchildren, Lakyn
Forrester and Adalyn War
rington.

Mrs. Renate Viel Crum
mie, age 84, of Thomaston,
died Tuesday, May 18, at
Brightmoor Hospice in
Griffin. A private family
graveside funeral was held
in South View Cemetery.
Mrs. Crummie was born
in Heilbronn, West Ger
many, March 2,1937, to the
late Fredrick and Karoline
Nothdurft Viel. She moved
to Thomaston in 1956 after
marrying Oscar C. Crum
mie, Jr., during his military
service. Mrs. Crummie was
employed by Thomaston
Mills, William Carter Com
pany in Thomaston and
Barnesville, and was a
homemaker. She was a
member of Valley Grove
Baptist Church.
Mrs. Crummie was pre
ceded in death by her par
ents and her husband.
She is survived by four
sons, Fredrick (Debra)
Crummie of Barnesville,
Eric Crummie of Barnes
ville, George (Dana) Crum
mie of Russellville, Ala.,
and Rollo (Connie) Crum
mie of Statesboro; eight
grandchildren, Charles
Crummie and Ryan Crum
mie, both of Barnesville,
Joshua Crummie of Macon,
Emili (Micah) Fleming and
Patrick Crummie, both of
Alabama, Nicholas Crum
mie of Thomaston, Kristin
(Calvin) Eslinger of Rich
mond Hill, and Adam
Word of Statesboro; one
sister of Germany; 10 great
grandchildren; three great-
great-grandchildren; and
beloved neighbors on Oak
Ridge Drive also survive.

Mrs. Winnie Lee Seay
Drain, age 89, of Spring
Street, passed Wednesday,
May 19, 2021 at Bright
moor Hospice in Griffin.
Graveside services were
held Sunday, May 23, at
Southview Cemetery. Pas
tor Patrick Allen officiated,
assisted by Rev. Leroy Britt.
Mrs. Drain attended
public schools in Upson
County. She was a lifelong
member of Cedar Grove
Family Ministries. She was
formerly employed by Peer
less Mills and also did pri
vate duty housekeeping.
She is survived by five
children, Mr. Robert Drain
of Thomaston, Mrs. Linda
Sue (Ralph) Loyd of Butler,
and Mr. Marshell Drain,
Mrs. Debbie Sue Atwater,
and Mrs. Frances Eugenia
(Larry) Daniel, all of Thom
aston; six grandchildren; 12
great-grandchildren; four
great-great-grandchildren;
two sisters, Mrs. Jannie
(Rev. Leroy) Britt and Mrs.
Ida Little, both of Thomas
ton; one sister-in-law, Mrs.
Annie Kate Seay of Thom
aston; and a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins and other
relatives and friends.

Mrs. Deloris C. Garrett,
age 78, of Thomaston, died
Wednesday, May 19, 2021
at Providence Health Care.
Mrs. Garrett was born
in Palmetto, Fla., June 29,
1942, to the late William
Jasper Cothern and Nora
Ethel Holland Cothern. She
was a i960 graduate of R.E.
Lee Institute and was
formerly employed by
Thomaston Mills in the
weave department.
Her son, Todd Garrett,
preceded her in death.
Mrs. Garrett is survived
by her son, Pete (Darlene)
Garrett of Thomaston and
her granddaughter Lauren
Garrett (Jared) Brown.
Graveside services were
private.

Earl Mulling
Mr. Thomas Earl Mul
ling, 74, of Yatesville, died
Sunday, May 23, 2021 at
Brightmoor Hospice in
Griffin.
Mr. Mulling was born in
Thomaston March 14,1947,
a son of the late Fred Hicks
Mulling and Cleta Brown
Mulling. He was employed
by North Electric and had
worked for TDK, Henry
Medical Center and Lanier
Electronics.
Mr. Mulling loved flying
and working on his land.
He was a member of Yates
ville Baptist Church.
Mr. Mulling is survived
by his wife, Ruth Christine
Mulling; two daughters,
Kristi (Jeff) Hayes and
Katie (Shane) Moore, both
of Yatesville; a step-daugh
ter, Carrie (Eric) Snell of
Meansville; a step-son,
Rodney (Pam) Awtrey of
Williamson; and a brother,
Fred (Dot) Mulling of Ya
tesville.
He is also survived by 13
grandchildren, Emmie
Katie Hayes, Hayden
Hayes, Jackson Moore,
Jacob Moore, Shelby Wil
son, Nathan Wilson,
Warren Snell, Anna Snell,
Bethany Tilson, Jackson
Snell, Valley Tilson,
Breanna Priest, and Daniel
Priest; and six great grand
children, Leo Wilson, Callie
Wilson, Ezra Snell, Mason
Priest, Nolan Priest, and
Addie Priest.
Funeral services for Mr.
Mulling were held Wednes
day, May 26, at Yatesville
Baptist Church, with Rev.
John Wesley Long officiat
ing.
Burial was in the Yates
ville United Methodist
Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Iva Erlene Shobe
Mrs. Iva Erlene Shobe,
age 71 of Thomaston, died
May 22, 2021 at Bright
moor Hospice In Griffin.
Funeral services were
held Tuesday, May 25, at
Fellowship Baptist Church
and burial followed in Fel
lowship Baptist Church
Cemetery with military
honors.
Mrs. Shobe was born
Dec. 12, 1949, in Upson
County, to the late Willie
Earl and Louise Winkles
Garner. She served in the
United States Navy and
lived in Decatur, Ill. for 27
years where she drove a
school bus for the Mt. Zion
School district and worked
at Taylor Pharmaceuticals.
Mrs. Shobe later moved
back to Thomaston, where
she was a member of Fel
lowship Baptist Church and
worked at Upson Regional
Medical Center as a phar
macy tech for 22 years.
Mrs. Shobe was pre
ceded in death by her par
ents and a son, Brian
Edward Shobe.
Survivors include her
daughter, Stephanie Mi
chelle Ater and her hus
band Christopher of Port
Charlotte, Fla.; a son, Rusty
Edward Shobe, and his wife
Amber of Decatur, Ill.;
sisters, Connie Brown and
her husband Steve of
Thomaston and Dianne
Harpe and her husband
Jeff of Sharpsburg; grand
children, Ryder, Randi and
Liliana Shobe; nieces, Alli
son Bennett, Ashley Rick
man, and Payton Hand;
and a nephew, Nathan
Harpe.

Center.
Mrs. Smith was born
April 25, i960, in Warm
Springs, to the late R.E.
Strickland and the late
Malanie Eubanks. She
worked for EGO North
America for many years.
Survivors include her
daughter, Felicia Richards
of Manchester; son, Jer
emy Richards of Newnan;
and grandchildren, Jacob
Richards, Sophia Bragg,
and Caiden Richards.
Memorial services will
be held Sunday, May 30,
at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel
of Coggins Funeral Home.

Richardson Walker, age
82, of Dallas Drive, passed
Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at
her residence.
Memorial services

Jr. Memorial Chapel.

officiated, assisted by Pas
tor Wayne Lumpkin.
Mrs. Walker was edu
cated in the public schools
of Pike County. She was a
former member of Mt.
Nebo Baptist Church and
was formerly employed by
Martha Mills.
She is survived by five
children, Mrs. Dianne
(Carl) Jones of Madison,
Mr. Donald Walker, Mrs.
Janice (Christopher)
Woodall of Butler, Ms.
Carla Walker of Thomas
ton, and Mr. Johnny
Walker, Jr. of Las Vegas,
Nev.; 23 grandchildren
and 11 great-grandchil
dren; sisters and brothers-
in-law, Mrs. Shirley

Jefferson Winters
Mr. Elmore "Jerry"
Jefferson Winters, age 71,
of Thomaston, passed
away Wednesday, May 19,
2021 at his residence.
Mr. Winters was born
in Upson County, to the
late Monroe Jefferson
Winters and the late
Velma Pritchett Winters.
He was self-employed as a
carpenter, and a member
of the Morningstar Lodge.
Mr. Jerry was a Mason,
Shriner, and a deacon at
Northside Baptist Church.
He loved the Lord, his
sisters whom he adored,
church family, family, and
his wife of 52 years. In ad
dition to his parents, he
was preceded in death by
his sisters, Barbara Posey
and Joyce Winters.
Survivors include his
wife, Jaquelyn "Jack"
Winters of Thomaston;
daughter, Gina Winters of
Thomaston; son, Shane
Winters of Thomaston;
sisters, Sylvia Winters
(Bill) Chapman of Thom
aston and Geraldine
Winters Slaughter; grand
children, Ross Winters,
Blake (Deven Thompson)
Winters, Daniel Winters,
Payton (Justin Waddle)
Forbus, and Levi Scott;
