GFL to Adjust Waste Pickup Days Aug. 23
Green For Life Environmental has
announced an adjustment of garbage
and trash routes in Thomaston start
ing the week of Aug. 23, according to
a statement released by the company.
The alteration will not affect all cus
tomers.
“We at GFL Environmental would
like to take a moment to thank you
for your business. As part of an effort
to increase efficiencies and reduce
fuel consumption, we are rerouting
the City of Thomaston,” according to
the statement. “This reroute will re
sult in changing days of service for
some community members.
“The routing changes will begin
the week of Aug. 23, and individual
notifications will be sent to all cus
tomers whose service day changes to
notify them of their new day of serv
ice,” the statement continued. “We
appreciate your help and considera
tion as we strive to bring the best pos
sible service to our customers.”
The reroute follows concerns ex
pressed by city council members who
said multiple complaints have been
received by residents regarding qual
ity of garbage and trash service.

property and land owners.
For my friends and neigh
bors in the 3rd District, my
goal is to serve you and make
sure our district is treated
equally.” And in almost all of
his campaign ads, he said,
“Finally, I want to encourage
everyone to support Upson.
Buy locally when you can.
Support our Mom and Pop
businesses - they need you.
Every dollar spent in Upson
County ensures a better
quality of life for all of us.”
Lorenzo Wilder’s cam
paign slogan was:
“COMMITTED to Our
Community • DEDICATED
to Our Progress” and “If it
concerns you, it concerns
me.” He said, “My plan is to
work with the Economic
Devel-iopment Authority,
elected state officials, local
schools, including
South-iern Crescent Techni
cal College, to help prepare
the upcoming generation
and adults to enter the
work-iforce. By creating
jobs, this builds prosperity
and en-icourages growth for
our citizens and all future
cit-iizens of Upson County.”
James Ellington said
during his campaign that he
would:
“Work to bring industry
and small businesses to
Thomaston/Upson County
while working closely with
the IDA Director and Board”
and “Be a voice for my con
stituents in District 2.” And
“In the May election, we all
have two choices: 1. To keep
things as they are and con
tinue down the road that we
are currently on and make
excuses for why we, as a
county, don't succeed; or 2.
Take a chance and try new
ideas and fresh approaches.
Only one option has the po
tential to get us a different
result. Please vote James El
lington for County Commis
sioner District 2.”
I don’t want to leave Ben
Watson out, but cannot find
what he ran on. I feel fairly
certain he loves his com
munity and supports local
business and service pro
viders.
Well, fellas, I like all of
you and believe that, for the
most part, you’ve done a
great job. Except in one
major area. You have a
choice to do the right thing
and support our local busi
nesses or keep going like you
are with a seriously flawed
point system that gives out-
of-towners the very same
points as you do those who
pay into our community’s
coffer - our money that we
granted you the opportunity
to spend.

calamity and an excuse to
rig an election. Get it?
You’ve been warned.
Even faced with those
and many more disturbing
facts about the plight of the
country, we have those that
think tearing down/burn

and canceling history over
ancient grievances matters.
It reminds me of someone
rearranging the furniture
on the Titanic.
Meanwhile, 8,000!..
EIGHT THOUSAND!!!...
blacks are killed by other
blacks annually. Fourteen
by police - most while re
sisting arrest. If you don’t
have a problem with that,
you’ve got a problem. Focus
on stuff that matters.
Everything they say in
cluding if s... and’s... the’s...
and but’s... is a lie. The rad
ical Marxist Democrats are
trying to put us in a strait
jacket of political correct
ness and wokeness and are
using it to strangle our free
doms and liberties and, if
not stopped... us.

I have people who know
the real me,
And they still love me
even if we disagree.
Though sometimes we
may fuss and fight,
In the end everything
will be all right
Because families for
give each other no matter
what.
That's just the way it is,
no ifs, ands, or buts.
Family stays true all the
way down the line,
And I couldn't live with
out these people of mine.
Yes, this is what family
means to me,
If this rings true for
you, then I'm sure you
agree.”
And you all are right, I was
spoiled with love from my
family and with love from
Georgia.
Georgia’s skin was much
darker than mine. I don’t
think she cared, and I don’t
think I even noticed. I
simply loved her too.
I don’t think Georgia,
God rest her soul, would ap
prove of what’s happening
in this country any more
than I do.
Since I now know that
“Georgia on My Mind” has
nothing to do with our state,
I’m going to let it remind me
of the Georgia that sat on
the church steps with me.
As for the craziness that
seems to be spreading from
sea to shining sea, the line
sung by Brooks Benton
seems appropriate: “Feels
like it’s raining all over the
world.”

Healed of Breast Cancer
When I was diagnosed with
breast cancer, I did everything
that alternative medicine
recommended. Although I
thought I was acting in faith,
I didn't realize at the time that
I was looking everywhere but
to God for answers.
Then I read Dr. Henry W.
Wright's book, A More Excellent \Nay, and shortly after,
I attended the For My Life® Retreat and the Walk Out
Workshop®. I began to understand what I was dealing
with spiritually, and learned how to repent from the
heart for anything that the Holy Spirit convicted me of.
God helped me overcome accusation in my life and to
practice forgiveness towards myself and others. Soon
after I got home from Georgia, I realized all pain was
gone.
My healing process was a journey of faith and trusting
God, but gradually, the tumor shrunk and disappeared.
God has healed me of cancer! -JaqueS.
