WORTH REPEATING... "...opening up a news
paper is the key to looking classy and smart.
Never mind the bronze-plated stuff about the
role of the press in a democracy - a newspaper,
kiddo, is about style." - Garrison Keillor

The talk is always the same
when it comes to alcohol, and
that is it will bring in more in
dustry. What alcohol does is
there are more people absent from their workplace
on Monday, because of the weekend of drinking.
Some 40 years ago, our community had industry
and downtown was booming. There was not one
drop of alcohol being sold. Losing jobs was not be
cause of the lack of alcohol being sold, it was because
of bad government decisions.
What does the Word of God say about the at
tempt to build a town or city with wickedness? We
read from Habakkuk 2:12 the following words: “Woe
to him that buildeth a town with blood, and stabli-
sheth a city by iniquity!”
More and more alcohol will bring in the shed of
more and more blood. What some call prosperity is
really the destruction.
I realize as I write weekly articles that only a
small percentage will agree. I don’t write anything
for man’s approval. I simply write what God puts in
my heart to write, and to Him I am forever thankful.
Woe to him that buildeth a town or city without
God.
