Motivational Speaker Kevin Atlas
Scheduled to Visit ULHS This Friday
Internationally re
nowned motivational
speaker Kevin Atlas is
scheduled to visit Upson-
Lee High School Friday
to share his story of “fac
ing challenges and turn
ing them into triumphs,”
according to T-U Schools
Communications Direc
tor Karen Truesdale.
Atlas will address stu
dents between 9:15 and
10:15 a.m.
Due to complications
at birth, Atlas was born
with a left arm that
ended just below the
elbow. As a young child,
Atlas struggled in school
with self-confidence
until a middle school
coach showed that he be
lieved in him. From that
moment forward, Atlas
dedicated himself to
school and basketball,
and eventually became
the first-ever player with
one hand to earn a Divi
sion I basketball scholar
ship.
After meeting with
ULHS administration on
Friday morning, Atlas
will meet ULHS students
in the Upson-Lee Fine
Arts Center to share his
story.
