Mrs. Sara Louise Wil
son Adams, age 91, of
Thomaston, died Saturday
Nov. 13, 2021 at Heritage
Inn in Barnesville.
Mrs. Adams was born
Sept. 12, 1930 in Ellaville,
to the late Edgar Wilson
and the late Claudia
Johnson Wilson. She
worked for Thomaston
Mills in the lab for many
years. Mrs. Adams was a
member of Flint River
Primitive Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents,
she was preceded in death
by her husband, Silas
Adams.
Survivors include her
daughter, Gail (Jack) Self
of Decatur, Ala.; son, Ron
ald (Lynn) Adams of
Thomaston; grandchil
dren, Jonathan Self, Jef
frey Self, and John
Leiferman; great-grand
children, Laura Harrison,
Kara Leiferman, Erin El
lington, and Ethan Elling
ton; and great-great-
grandchildren, Raimi
Leiferman, Tinley Rae
Harrison, and River Harri
son.
Graveside services were
held Monday, Nov. 15, at 1
p.m. from Upson Memo
rial Gardens.

"Roy" Baughcum
Mr. Julian "Roy"
Baughcum, age 84, of
Thomaston, died Monday,
Nov. 15,2021 at Upson Re
gional Medical Center.
Mr. Baughcum was
born on March 4, 1937 in
Thomaston, to the late
Hiram Baughcum and the
late Thelma Smith Baugh
cum. He worked as a man
ager at Atlanta Dairies and
was a member of Vega
Community Church.
In addition to his par
ents, he is preceded in
death by his wife, Jean
"Sissy" Baughcum, and
brothers, Aaron Baugh
cum, Doug Baughcum,
Bentley Baughcum, and
Howard Baughcum.
He is survived by his
daughter, Cathy McDaniel
of Thomaston; sons, Jay
Baughcum of Monroe and
Jimmy (Susan) Baughcum
of Decatur; brother, Floyd
Baughcum of Thomaston;
grandchildren, Nick
(Leeann) McDaniel, Carrie
Anderson, Jo Hutchison,
Jessica (Ryan) Elliott, Jor
dan (Courtney) Baughcum,
Kaylee Baughcum; and 12
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were
held on Wednesday Nov.
17, 2021 at 2 p.m. from
Vega Community Church.
Burial followed at Upson
Memorial Gardens. The
family received friends on
Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021
from 1-2 p.m. at Vega
Community Church.
Family is gathering at
Roy’s granddaughter’s
home (Carrie Anderson) at
204 Diane Drive in Thom
aston for those who would
like to stop by and visit.
In lieu of flowers, me
morial donations can be

Church, at 478 Vega Rd.,

her dearly.

Walker; four siblings, Betty

Freddie Diggs, all of Col
lege Park; his talking
buddy, Cayden “Junior”
Childs; a devoted friend
who was there at all times,
Mr. Carl Walker; and a
host of nieces, nephews,
cousins and friends that
will mill him very dearly.

Mrs. Carole Ann Frank
lin, age 79, of Thomaston,
died Monday Nov. 15,2021
at West Georgia Hospice in
LaGrange.
Mrs. Franklin was born
on June 9, 1942 in Thom
aston, to the late Ray N.
Blount and the late Susie
Mae Wagner Blount. She
was a small business
owner and a member of
The Rock Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents,
she is preceded in death by
her brothers, Ray N.
Blount Jr. and Jerry Allen
Blount.
Survivors include her
husband, George William
"Billy" Franklin of Thom
aston; daughters, Rhonda
(Mike) Brown of Thomas
ton, Lori (Brett) Lee of
North Carolina, Ginger
(David) Rider of La-
Grange; son, Andy
(Kimberly) Franklin of
Thomaston; nine grand
children; and six great
grandchildren.
It was Mrs. Franklin's
wish to be cremated; there
will not be a service at this
time. A donation to your
local 'no-kill' animal
shelter or the Humane So
ciety in her name in lieu of
flowers would be appreci
ated.

Mr. James Ted Helms
Mr. James Ted Helms,
age 84, of Atlanta, died
Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021 at
his sister's residence.
Mr. Helms was born
Aug. 8, 1937, in Thomas
ton, to the late Henry Al-
dine Helms and the late
Marion Dean Helms. He
was a registered X-ray
technologist and a labo
ratory technician, and was
employed by the state for
34 years. He received his
training at Grady Hospital
in Atlanta.
In addition to his par
ents, he was preceded in
death by his sister, Sylvia
Helms Tucker; and
brother, Lamar Helms, all
from Thomaston.
Survivors include his
twin brother, Fred Helms;
brothers, Sammy Helms
and Tim (Deanna) Helms;
sisters, Pam (David) Boyt
and Elizabeth Helms He-
wett, both of Thomaston,
and Brenda Helms Barfield
of Zebulon. Ted is also sur
vived by numerous cous
ins, nieces, nephews, and
great-nephews and nieces.
Graveside services were
held Friday, Nov. 12, from
Southview Cemetery.

ments: three beautiful
daughters, Sonya Cope
land of Ellenwood, Towana
Mehra and Angela Willing
ham, both of Jonesboro; as
well as her pride and joy,
her only grandchild, Ms.
Ashley Robinson of Ellen-
wood. Additionally, she
leaves two sisters, Dorothy
M. Brown of Ellenwood
and Deloise Worthy of Bar
nesville; one uncle, Walter
Hudson of Philadelphia,
Pa.; several nieces,
nephews, family, and
friends.
Although she tran
sitioned from the present,
her spirit and good deeds
live on.
