Mr. Charles Andrew
Brown, age 63, more affec
tionately known as “School
boy” and “Andy,” of Clark
Drive, passed Friday, Dec.
3, 2021 at Upson Regional
Medical Center.
Memorial services were
held Saturday, Dec. 11, at
Henderson Temple True
Church of God in Christ.

cus Taylor.
Mr. Brown was edu
cated in the Upson County
School System and gradu
ated from Drake High
School. He later attended
Gordon College. He was
employed by the Georgia
Department of Transporta
tion until he became dis
abled. He was a member of
Henderson Temple True
Church of God in Christ.
He was survived by his
wife, Mrs. Sylvia Ann Har
daway Brown; his mother,
Mrs. Christine Warner
Brown; two sons, Mr. Solo
mon Akeem Brown and
Master Jeremiah Andrew
Brown; one sister, Mrs.
Geraldine Boyd, all of
Thomaston; three devoted
nephews, Mr. Cedric Boyd,
Pastor Jonathan Boyd, and
Mr. Demetris Russell;
aunts and uncles, Ms.
Addie Warner, Mrs. Eloise
Mann, Mrs. Shelia (Melve)
Colbert, Mr. Henry (Geor
gia) Brown, Mrs. Nancy
Brown, Mrs. Mable Brown,
and Mr. Shedrich Risper,
all of Thomaston, Mr. Leon
Brown of Augusta, Mr.
Dennis (Linda) Brown of
North Carolina, Mrs. Flor
ence Hosley of Milledge-
ville, and Mrs. Joanne
Worthy of Melbourne, Fla.;
and a host of cousins and
other relatives and friends.

Deloris Harrell
Ms. Doris Deloris Har
rell, age 68, of Barnesville
Street, passed Tuesday,
Dec. 6, 2021 at Upson Re
gional Medical Center.
Graveside services were
held Monday, Dec. 12, at
Springfield Baptist Church.
Pastor C. Derrick Shelton
officiated, assisted by Evan
gelist Sandra T. Trice and
Minister Sally Gray. Inter
ment was in Springfield
Cemetery.
Ms. Harrell was born in
Lumpkin, Stewart County.
She graduated from Lump
kin Industrial High School.
She was a member of
Springfield Baptist Church.
She was employed by the
Thomaston-Upson County
Civic Center. She taught ce
ramic art at the civic center.
She earned her CNA and
was later employed by
Providence Nursing Home.
She was survived by two
children, Mr. Clarence
Lamar Harrell of Thomas
ton and Ms. April Holmes
of Forest Park; one adopted
son, Mr. Mark Walker of
Grand Rapids, Mich.; seven
siblings, Mrs. Susie (Alvin)
Harps of Jonesboro, Mr.
Elijah Darden, Jr. of Thom
aston, Mrs. Mary (Deloach)
Ponder of Hampton, Ms.
Mary Julia Alford, Ms.
Hazel Alford, Mr. Timothy
Lee (Adella) Alford, and
Mr. Christopher Bernard
Alford, all of Thomaston; a
devoted friend, Ms. Rose
Daniel of Columbus; and a
host of nieces, nephews,
cousins and other relatives
and friends.

rangements.
James Calvin
McGraw, Sr.
James Calvin McGraw,
Sr. age 85, of Woodbury,
died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021
at his home.
Mr. McGraw was born
Sept. 28, 1936 in Thomas
ton, the son of Harvey and
Beatrice Pearson McGraw.
He was a retired self-em
ployed contractor for more
than 30 years. He was a
veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Mr. McGraw had many
interests over the years
from farming to helping his
family and neighbors with
projects. He was a member
of the Senior Citizens Club
and attended his regular
meeting each Thursday
evening with them. He was
a devoted husband, father,
grandfather, and friend.
He was preceded in
death by his parents; wife,
Venita Gill McGraw; son,
James Calvin McGraw, Jr.;
brothers J. W. McGraw and
Bobby Williams; and
sisters, Louise Polk, Jo
James, and Christine Cal
houn.
He is survived by his
daughter, Sabrina Lan-
caster-Butler and her hus
band Jeb of Thomaston;
granddaughters, Jessica
Leigh Medus of Thomaston
and Nicole McGraw of
Woodbury; special cousins,
Glenn and Beckie McGraw;
and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr.
McGraw were held at 3
p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15,
at the chapel of Cox Funeral
Home, located at 93
Prather-Barnes Road in
Manchester, with inter
ment following in the Meri
wether Memory Gardens.
The family will receive
friends from 2-3 p.m. prior
to the service at the funeral
home.
The McGraw family is
being assisted by Cox Fu
neral Home of Manchester.
