A Dawsonville man was arrested last
week after warrants accused him of “com
mitting an indecent and
immoral act” to a child
under 16 years of age.
Donnie Cleveland
Fleming, 70, of
Dawsonville, was arrest
ed May 15 on a felony
charge of child molesta
tion. The arrest stemmed
from an allegation that
reportedly occurred
between 2016 and 2017, according to
Dawson County Sheriff Jeff Johnson.
On May 17, additional warrants were
obtained and additional charges were filed
against Cleveland, charging him with
solicitation of sodomy, aggravated child
molestation, aggravated assault, first
degree cruelty to children, aggravated sod
omy, incest and two additional counts of
child molestation, all felonies.
According to Johnson, the warrants
allege that Fleming committed the offense
of sodomy with force and against the will
of another person and engaged in sodomy
with a person whom he knows he is related
to. He is accused of causing a child under
the age of 18 cruel and excessive physical
or mental pain and of using an object,
device or instrument against a person in an
effort to strangle them.
Fleming is currently being held in the
Dawson County Detention Center.
Fleming was previously arrested March
5 on a misdemeanor sexual battery charge.
He was accused of intentionally making
contact with the intimate body parts of
another without the victim’s consent.
The incident was reported to have
occurred between February and March of
2018.
Fleming was released after posting an
$8,000 bond.
A police report from September of 2016
shows that deputies responded to a juve
nile complaint at a Dawsonville home
where Fleming resided, and reports
accused Fleming of child molestation and
enticing a child for indecent purposes.

Natural gas is a colorless, odorless fuel. For safety reasons, a chemical odorant called mercaptan
is added for easy detection. This odorant has a distinctive "rotten egg" type scent. Natural gas
odors should be reported right away. Do not try to locate the source of the smell.
Smell gas?
Act fast!
If you smell this odor:
• Alert others and leave the area immediately.
• Leave the door open as you exit.
• Avoid using any sources of ignition, such as cell phones, lighters, matches, cigarettes,
flashlights, light switches, landlines or starting a car engine.
• Call Atlanta Gas Light at 877.427.4B21 or 911 once you are out of the area and in a safe place.
