OBITUARIES
Minnie Sarah Bruce
Minnie Sarah Bruce, 73,
of Dawsonville, died Sept.
9, 2018.
Minnie was a member of
Mercy Fellowship Church.
She loved the Lord with
her whole heart and dedi
cated her life to God and
her children. She had a
phenomenal strength, was
sweet and the kindest lov
ing person anyone could
meet. This strength was
seen with the passing of her
parents, within months of
each other, when Minnie
was 16 years old. She loved
her family and always
wanted to make someone
smile. Minnie loved gospel
music. Her best advice for
everyone was “always put
God first.”
Her parents, Sidney
Ralph and Nellie Jane
Barber; sisters, Margaret
and Lily; and brother,
Wesley, preceded her in
death.
Survivors include her
husband, Stanley Bruce;
her sons and daughters-in-
law, Kevin Dodd, Mark
and Jeannie Dodd, Brian
and Belinda Dodd, and
Keith and Lori Dodd;
brothers and sisters-in-law,
Oliver “Goonie” and Diane
Barber, Richard and Ann
Barber; sister-in-law, Ella
Barber; brother-in-law and
sisters-in-law, Don and
Imogene Bruce, Evelyn
and Sam Swann, Hoyt and
Mary Bruce, Glen and
Janie Bruce; grandchildren,
Dustin (Lindsey), John
Paul, Mark (Shelby),
Kayla; great-grandchildren,
Allie, Peyton, Cayden,
Jency; her puppy, Little
Dog; various other relatives

Funeral services were
held at 1 p.m. Sept. 13 in
the Ingram Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Terry
Garrett officiating.
Interment followed in
Sawnee View Gardens.
The family received
friends from 5 p.m. until 9
p.m. Sept. 11, from 10 a.m.
until 9 p.m. Sept. 12 and
from 10 a.m. until the hour
of service Thursday.

Irene Ingram Collier
Irene Ingram Collier, 91,
of Dawsonville, died Sept.
11,2018.
Bom Jan. 15, 1927 to the
late Virgle and Ella Mae
Lemley, she has been a res
ident of Dawson County
for most of her life. Irene
was a member of New Life
Church of God for over 65
years. An excellent seam
stress, she enjoyed quilting
and worked in food service
for the Dawson County
School System until her
retirement. She loved
everybody, especially her
family and the Lord.
Her husbands, Grady
Ingram, Jimmy Collier;
daughter, Ruby Jean
Turner; son, Cecil Ingram;
grandson, Doug Ingram;
great-granddaughter,
Taylor Grace Caldwell;
brothers, Horace “Pete”
Lemley, Jeffey Lemley; sis
ters, Louise Eller, Fannie
Patterson and Geraldine
Moore, preceded her in
death.
Survivors include her
son, Clinton Ingram of
Dawsonville; daughter and
son-in-law, Dianne and
Tony Allison of
Dawsonville; sisters and
brothers-in-law, Annie Lou
Pinion of Dawsonville,
Bessie and Hoyt Cantrell of
Dahlonega, Leila and

Dawsonville, Bob Moore

the Bearden Funeral Home

ciated. Interment followed
in the Dawsonville City
Cemetery.

friends from 2 p.m. to 8
p.m. Sept. 12 at the funeral
home.

Noelle Cook
Noelle Cook, 42, of
Dahlonega, died Sept. 10,
2018.
Born Oct. 8, 1975 in
Atlanta, she had lived in
Lumpkin County for the
past 18 years having
moved from Forsyth
County. A homemaker at
her death, Noelle was a
loving wife and mother.
She loved to help people
and loved her fur babies
and was a member of
Dahlonega Baptist Church.
Her father, Richard K.
Lewis; and grandparents,
Jean and Horace Lewis,
Liz and Pat Warner, and
Harmon Pruitt, preceded
her in death.
Survivors include her
husband, Jody Cook of
Dahlonega; children, Jacob
and Kara Cook of
Dahlonega; mother, Jane
Reeves of Dahlonega; sis
ter-in-law and brother-in-
law, Suzette and Chuck
Burt of Dawsonville; moth-
er-in-law, Susie Cook of
Cumming; and a number
of nieces, nephews, aunts
and uncles; various other
relatives also survive.
Funeral services were
held at 3 p.m. Sept. 15 in
the Bearden Funeral Home
Chapel. Rev. Bill
Hutchinson and Rev. Tony
Holtzclaw officiated.
Interment followed in
Dawsonville Memorial
Gardens.
The family received
friends from 1 p.m. to 8
p.m. Sept. 14 at the funeral
home.

Hugh Fields
Rev. Hugh Fields, 88, of
Dawsonville, died Sept. 12,
2018.
Bom Aug. 17, 1930 to
the late Henry Grady and
Carrie Fields, he was a life
long resident of Dawson
County. Rev. Fields served
as Dawson County Probate
Judge for 16 years. He was
ordained into the Baptist
Ministry in 1958 after
which he served as pastor
of County Line Baptist
Church, served as pastor of
the First Baptist Church of
Dawsonville for 16 years
and served as pastor of
Goshen Baptist Church for
30 years. Hugh was a
member of Sweetwater
Baptist Church and also a
member of Etowah Lodge
# 222 F & AM for 67
years.
His wife of 61 years,
Grace Fields, preceded him
in death.
Survivors include his
children, Dennis Fields,
Kathy and Mike Arp,
Randy Fields and his fiance
Lois Lynch, all of
Dawsonville; sister,
Yvonne Ledbetter of
Dawsonville; grandsons,
Ben Fields, Michael Fields,
Christoffer Fields, Shannon
Arp, Jeremy Fields; great
grandchildren, Kayden
Arp, Slade Arp, Erica
Fields, Nevaeh Fields,
Caylee Fields, Jada Fields,
Tevin Fields; various other
relatives also survive.
Funeral services were
held at 2 p.m. Sept. 16 in
the Bearden Funeral Home
Chapel. Rev. Russell Burt
and Dr. Jim Gaines officiat
ed. Interment followed in
the Sweetwater Baptist
Church Cemetery with
Masonic Rites.

p.m. Sept. 15 at the funeral

James "Terry" Ragan
James “Terry” Ragan,
70, of Dawsonville, died
Sept. 14, 2018.
He was a bom to the late
James “Red” and Ruth
Ragan. Terry resided in
Dawsonville for the past 18
years and was an avid
NASCAR fan and was
very involved with the
Dawsonville Moonshine
Festival.
He was a loving hus
band, father and grandfa
ther.
His brother-in-law, Doug
Farmer, preceded him in
death.
Survivors include his
loving wife, Wanda Ragan
of Dawsonville; daughters
and sons-in-law, Kelly and
Donald “Duke” Porter of
Dawsonville, Kristy and
Matthew Anderson of
Dallas, Ga., Wendy and
Bryan Voiles of Tunnel
Hill; son and daughter-in-
law, Jason and Lindsey
Reed of Hixon, Tenn.;
grandchildren, Devin, T.J.,
Chathan, Maddox, Corbin,
Dandle, Hunter, Spencer,
Morgan, Fletcher, Owen;
great-grandchild, Henley;
sister, Linda Farmer of
Blairsville; nephew, Alan
and Tonya Hawk of
Blairsville; various other
relatives also survive.
Funeral services were
held at 11 a.m. Sept. 18 in
the Bearden Funeral Home
Chapel with the Rev. Doug
Couch and Joel Gibbs offi
ciating. Interment followed
the funeral at 3 p.m. in Mt.
Harmony Memorial
Gardens in Mableton.
The family received
friends from 4 p.m. to 8
p.m. Sept. 17 at the funeral
home.

David B. "Dave"
Sutton
David B. “Dave” Sutton,
81, of Dawsonville, died
Sept. 16,2018.
Born Feb.15, 1937 in
Franklin, N.C. to the late
Mont and Mary Sutton, he
had lived in Dawson
County for the past 11
years having moved from
Forsyth County.
Dave was a 1955 gradu
ate of Cumming High
School and attended
Georgic Tech. He formerly
owned and operated Sutton
Construction Specialty
Company which was the
oldest privately owned con
struction supply business in
Georgia. He was also a co
owner of DX2, Geosyntex,
Inc.
Mr. Sutton was a mem
ber of Bethel United
Methodist Church, was an
avid golfer and possessed a
great love of his dogs and
classic cars.
Survivors include his
wife of 53 years, Ruth
Sutton of Dawsonville;
daughter and son-in-law,
Susan and Greg Pickren of
Dawsonville; sister, Nancy
Richardson of Gainesville;
brothers and sister-in-law,
Michael Sutton of Decatur,
Ala., Richard and Beam
Sutton of Cedartown; vari
ous other relatives also sur
vive.
A celebration of his life
will be held at 3 p.m. Sept.
23 at Bethel United
Methodist Church. Dr.
David Sanders and Dr.
Orin Sampson will offici
ate.

Cicero David Turk III
Cicero David Turk, III,
63, of Dahlonega, died
Sept. 14,2018.
Born in Gray, Ga., he
was the son of Ruby Turk
and the late Cicero Turk.
Survivors include his
wife, Evi; daughters, Julie
and Chrissy; mother, Ruby;
siblings, Donna and
Darrell; three grandchil
dren, Charlie, Avery, and
Sally; various other rela
tives also survive.
David attended Jones
County High School grad
uating valedictorian of his
class. After college at
Young Harris, David
attended Mercer Law
School. David had a long
and distinguished career
serving as district attorney,
public defender and judge.
He adored his wife and
family and was widely
known for being a champi
on and advocate to those
around him.
David loved his dogs and
always left you with a wry
comment and a warmed
heart. He will live on in the
memory of so many that he
touched.
Funeral services were
held at 2 p.m. Sept. 18 in
Gray at the Clinton United
Methodist Church. A
memorial will be scheduled
in north Georgia in the
coming weeks.
The family requests
donations in lieu of flowers
to Boys and Girls Club of
America and TLC Humane
Society, Dahlonega, Ga.
Gray Memorial Chapel
and Crematory was in
charge of the arrangements.
