Plus size women’s clothing store
coming to Dawson Marketplace
From staff reports
Women’s plus size clothing brand
Torrid announced last week it will open
a new retail store at Dawson
Marketplace on Oct. 9 with a grand
opening event scheduled for Oct. 13.
“We believe fit is everything. It’s what
our customer wants and it’s what Torrid
does best,” said Liz Munoz, CEO of
Torrid. “We are passionately committed
to celebrating every shape, every size
and every curve of our customer. It’s not
just about trends this fall. We’re breaking
the rules of ‘inclusive sizing.’ Our teams
do not fit on mannequins, but on real
women. And that’s how Torrid gets fit
right.”
Since launching in 2001, Torrid stores
have provided women a unique shop
ping experience tailored exclusively to
them.
Tonid’s collections of fashion apparel,
accessories, swimwear, lingerie and
shoes are designed exclusively for
women sizes 10 to 30—each piece is
made and constructed specifically to fit
and flatter curvy figures, rather than
being a “sized up” version of a fashion
piece. Once developed, each piece is
tried and tested on women of different
sizes and shapes to ensure a fit that’s
unmatched in the industry.
The 3,249 square-foot Torrid store is
located near Five Below. Torrid will cel
ebrate the store’s grand opening at 10
a.m. on Oct. 13. The first 50 customers
will get a mystery gift card valued up to
$100. The next weekend, Oct. 20, Torrid
will be giving out mystery scratcher cou
pons to the first 100 customers.
The Dawson Marketplace is located at
136 Marketplace Parkway in
Dawsonville.
