North Georgia’s Got Talent set for Oct. 13

No One Alone’s second
annual North Georgia’s
Got Talent is set for 3 p.m.
Oct. 13 at the Dawson
County High School
Performing Arts Center.
Coming off a huge suc
cess in last year’s inaugural
talent competition, the
family-friendly show will
boast talent to rival what
can be seen on America’s
Got Talent.
All proceeds from the
event will go to support
victims of domestic vio
lence and abuse, which is
the core function of No
One Alone, or NOA, a
domestic violence shelter
serving both Dawson and
Lumpkin counties.
Over the summer, con
testants donated $25 each
to audition and the top 13
were selected to perform

from over 40 entrants. to first, second and third
Judges will award prizes place, with first place win
ning $500, second place
$300 and third place $200.
There will also be a tro
phy and recognition for the
People’s Choice Award,
given to the contestant who
gets the most votes from
the audience.
Contestants will earn
votes by raising money for
NOA through sponsor
ships, selling ads and tick
ets as well as audience
members putting cash or
checks in each contestant’s
voting box at the theater.
For each dollar they
raise, contestants will
receive one People’s
Choice vote.
Tickets are $15 and may
be purchased in Dahlonega
at Mullins Pharmacy and
Southern Finds and in
Dawsonville at Wild Birds
Unlimited and at the
Georgia Racing Hall of
Fame. Only checks or cash
will be accepted at those
locations.
Those who want to sup
port NOA and sponsor a
particular contestant (with
all funds going toward the
People’s Choice competi
tion) can go online at
www.noonealone.org/tal-
ent to specify a dollar
amount of sponsorship for
the contestant. Also avail
able on the website are
tickets, which also be des
ignated as 15 votes for
their favorite candidate.
These tickets will be
held at “Will Call” at the
theater.
Performers will include
Jessie Albright, Grace
Hodges, Hughes Taylor,
Starr Phipps, Adrian
Ramsey, Luke Elliott and
Connor Green, Alyssa
Sinopoli, Cash Laws,
Moses McKinzey,
Kennedy Hoard,
Hendricks Coats, Elliott
Prather and Nealy Webster.
Also performing will be
2017 winner Isabelle
Martinez-Amos (Belle
Gray).
Winners will be invited
to perform at Gold Rush, at
the Mountain Moonshine
Festival and at No One
Alone’s annual Chili
Cook-Off in Hancock Park
on Veterans Day.
NOA is a women’s
domestic violence shelter
serving Dawson and
Lumpkin Counties. All
proceeds from the event
will go to help the shelter,
which along with shelter
facilities also provides cri
sis intervention and ongo
ing support programs,
counseling and legal advo
cacy to families in crisis as
well as community aware
ness programs to the gen
eral public and in the
schools. All services NOA
provides are free and confi
dential.
